The Hispano E-30 was a private venture of the Franco-Spanish consortium Hispano-Suiza. A trainer initially, of simple construction and equipped with a small engine, at the beginning of it was soon equipped with a makeshift gun turret and was the first aircraft ever to display the red bands of the Spanish republic. The pilot frontal machine gun was often dismounted as the general practice of the Spanish air arm for two-seaters equipped with an observer gun mounting. The aircraft could also take some small bombs. Even without these additional weights, expect to spend most of your flights under 500m in accordance to the roles of spotter, liaison and ground support of this underpowered plane. As usual, you'll need to trim this aircraft adequately (remember that almost all these planes are nose heavy) and pay attention to the fact that this plane has huge ailerons surfaces - it gives sometimes the feeling of being a powered glider more than anything else.
update 3/6/12The 1930 original trainer version is now available together with the makeshift 1936 turret equipped bomber. This last version has now the more frequently seen tail skid instead of the original rather complex tail wheel arrangement. A couple of minor bugs have been corrected.
