No, they're all stock objects. Thanks for the compliment.

I'm struggling to find info on the airfields, although 1 or 2 of the Russian guys from Aviaskins are going to help me out w info. For that reason, I am not going to be able to be as precise as the guys who did the Slot map and who got every field for every time period perfect. I'm going to try and put a decent selection of fields on the map relying on Google Earth and my Russian buddies and some of my own reading and hopefully it will work out okay.

Personally I'm pretty relaxed about the historical accuracy of airfields. What I do think is a pity is when there are too few of them and parts of the map never get visited. It seems like a lot of work for nothing.

I'm getting more and more behind in my populating. Every time I look at a WW2 campaign map, I discover (literally) 50 or so new villages to insert. At present, I have about 70 villages to do, plus the harbour and "downtown" of Odessa.

At that point, the map will be release-able as a 1952 Jetwar map and as a WW2 fighter / long-range bomber map.

I think that I will populate 3 or 4 key areas more intensely for WW2 ground-pounding missions. The major fighting in this area took place in 1943-1944 along the lower Dnepr around Krivoy Rog. The front line "hardened" in November 1943 and the Soviets smashed the Krivoy Rog salient in February 1944 and caused a rushed mass evacuation of the entire map in the ensuing 2 weeks, as German and Romanian units retreated into Moldova to avoid being encircled. So I also need to make fall and winter texes for the appropriate seasons for this phase of the map.

Here's what the map looks like now. It's about a week or ten days away from being available as a Beta.
