Please, I need some help. With all the talent and skill I've seen displayed on this website, someone out there must have an idea why the markings switch in QMB will not add Italian fasces to the wings of the unmarked aircraft. I have three versions of IL-2, plus backups, and none of them will work. I've asked before and had no response but one who suggested I use a skin with the insignia already there. But if none of the aircraft skins have the markings applied, I'm stuck.

I hadn't, so I downloaded, and installed it, for a try. I'd tried MAT Manager before and had trouble with it, so I'd uninstalled it. This time I apparently got it right. Now the fasces appear more often. What drew my attention, in the first place, was their failure to appear on the new CR-32. That still doesn't work. There must be a reason for it, but I don't know what it is. I'll just be content with what I have and hope for more Italian CR-32 skins. Thanks for drawing my attention to MAT Manager. It solved much of the problem.

I got to thinking about that possibility, and so I made a thorough check of all Italian ac
I have installed. All Italian skins, of all Italian ac,  which have no markings, remain unmarked when the markings switch is opened or closed.
Am I the only one on the net with this problem?

"installed" what does that mean precisely?
are you saying that the problem is also happening on the Stock planes, or only the planes that YOU have installed - MOD planes (Ultrapack, modact, DBW, HSFX...)

In QMB in the upper right hand corner- you have

CHOSE Side-- it can be Allied or Axis
Which do you have selected?
With the Axis I have the markings.
I hope this is what you had in mind.

Thanks for your response. Sorry for the delay. By installed, I mean any blank, unmarked skin which I downloaded and put in its skin folder, or any default skin without Italian  insignia markings. When I switch the markings tab, these aircraft skins don't show any markings. For example, the new CR20 with the silver, unmarked wings remain blank when I turn the markings tab on in a campaign or QMB, as well as unmarked CR42 and Fiat G50 unmarked skins. However, to confound and confuse me even further, some of the skins with permanent markings will show a double wing insignia when the markings tab is switched on! I hope you have some ideas; I don't.

Thanks for your response and sorry about the delay. I am  careful about switching from red to blue and selecting Regia Aeronautica before trying the markings tab. The problem also occurs in campaigns as well as QMB.

It's not an issue, for the Italian aircraft the marking work in that way.
Since all the Italian aircraft have his proper slot you don't have other marking than the aircraft and squadriglia marking.
It's the same for the US aircraft.
The fasces are only displayed on the non italian aircraft

Thanks for your response. What you write is interesting, but there seems to be no problem with the U.S. markings switch in my games. It puts markings on skins without them. The problem only appears with the Italian. It strikes me that there must be a bad file, or somethind, but I have no idea where to look, or what to look for. It's odd. I hope someone has the solution.

I mean there are no italian marking on italian plane, like no us marking on us plane.
Both italian and us aircraft have his own slot, so the markin are on the skin.
If you select an other plane (like a german plane for the RegiaAeronautica) the marking are there but for the RA there are no marking under the wings
