(Mapmod) Karelia version 1.1
« on: August 13, 2012, 12:50:11 PM »

Hi all!
had a tuff summer. MY father died and i was also sick (phneumonia), but i'm OK now..
Anyways, here is latest and hopefully the final version of Karelia map from Team International Brigade:
Karelia
Download here:
https://www.mediafire.com/download.php?54u5g1nb75prh1x
It has been tested with DBW 1.7.
Installation:
Extract and copy/paste "maps" folder to ........#DBW/Mapmods/
And that's it.  :)
New version has improved height map, more houses new beautifull  historically corrected airfields by Jarmo Happonen.
It sure looks good!
screenshots and history of making this map is available here;
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,20813.0.html
Happy flying

@Dancing Bear,
In DBW1.71 everything loads fine.
The version included in DBW1.71 has already a map_F.tga. So that must be the reason it is not in the updated version of the Karelia map.
Here is the missing map_F.tga in case you want it:

@Kapteeni and Agracier,
I see you guys added villages lined up along the road and the way it is done I have seen it before...  ;)

Kapteeni,

I also extend my condolences and hopes for things to brighten up in your life.

Has anyone tried to get this to go in HSFX?  I know it is not meant for that, but I gave it a try with no luck.  After playing around and getting the textures in the right folders, I could not save a mission.

Just a question, not a request, although anyone who can get it to work and would share that process would be a very impressive person in my humble opinion.

If the map shows up in HSFX you installed it right.
If you can't save a mission it means you are mission (at least) one object.
There is somewhere here at SAS a thread by UP~Boomer with an objects pack ready for d/l. Maybe that will solve the notorious mission saving issue.
Or upgrading to the latest version of HSFX?

EDIT: here is the objects pack for HSFX:

Something to add some extra atmosphere. Here is a sound file of the anthem of Karelia ... I don't know what status it had as an official anthem, but it is interesting to have.
