The Aviatik was one of the most produced Germans's reconnaissance aircraft in WWI,served in various versions, from 1915 to 1917 in the air forces of Germany, Austria and Turkey.
In 1915 Italy acquired the license to reproduce and post the SAML to build for your aeronautical service (recently it seems that the acquisition was the work of the intelligence services), S1 and S2 were the backbone of specialties throughout the war.
