Me-262SB-1a with radar array
« on: August 31, 2012, 04:14:27 PM »

With the kind permission of both GJE52 and Red_Fox90 here is the folder and files that gives

the Me-262SB-1a a radar array,at the suggestion of GJE52 I moved the array up and

forward. This is only meant to be aesthetically pleasing. The radar array has no real function

at all,I only offer it here because several folks asked for it as it goes well with the night

intruder skin I put up for download in the skins section. As far as it ever really existing it

may have only been a drawing board plane and the war ended long before any ever became

operational,if the war had lasted longer who knows what the Germans might have stuck or hung on it or what it might have been used for.Inside the zipped folder I put a plane folder, inside that I put the Me-262SB-1a

folder,if you want you can switch back and forth between the two versions of the model by

simple creating a couple of empty folders(name them what you want) in the

Me-262C_SB/3do/plane folder of Red_Fox90 keep the version without the array in one folder while your using

the one with the array and vice versa,if you do decide to just drop the Me-262SB-1a folder in the plane folder and overwrite please backup your original first. I would also like to thank both GJE52 and Red_Fox90 for

their great mods. https://www.mediafire.com/?k39zgpcp1sggrod

Cheers Gumpy

love the look of this, it just looks right. Thanks very much.

It has r4m's so it has some capability, maybe X-4's or even a 'belly pack' containing a couple of canons like the Ar-234NJ.

thanks again

Gumpy

sorry mate just got around to installing this and i can not get it to show in game. the original plane shows up fine, but when i swap the 3do/plane folder with the one in your download, then the plane does not show in the object viewer and consequently does not show in game.

If i swap the folders back again all is fine. Any ideas? i'm running DBW 1.71.

cheers

slipper it sounds like you may be installing it to deep, you have to open the plane folder that's in the zip that I uploaded and only use the Me-262SB-1a folder that's inside of it.

Cheers Gumpy for the reply mate.

I'm sure I installed it ok. I took the plane folder included in your mod and replaced the plane folder in mine (after backing up).so in affect I am replacing the Me-262SB-1a folder located in Me-262C_SB/3do/plane/Me-262SB-1a of the original mod. That's correct isn't it?

The thing is when I swap back my old folder I get the original back so it must have the same folder structure for me to be able to use it.
The radar array doesn't require any other mod to be installed does it? Or is it self contained?

Cheers mate

Gumpy,

Still not joy mate sorry. Tried it in two DBW 1.71 installs with the same result. In QMB the plane shows up in the drop down list, and I can select weapons, however if I try to view the plane I just get a blank blue screen, also plane does not load on mission start.

One of the installs I tried it on is more or less a basic DBW 1.71 install, and I had it load at the top of my mods folder, still with no luck. If I swap your files for the original files game I can select the default plane with no problem.

Has anyone got this working on DBW 1.71? I am thinking maybe the radar files require some other files to be present that I do not have.

Any help appreciated.

Agree, shd have a separate slot. Also, guns shd be added too to make another version. and a pod for an anti-tank/bomber gun similar to the hs-129 gunpod.

Gumpy

Thanks for the help mate, and the pm. Unfortunately this mod just will not work for me. I had the folders exactly as you showed.

Standard mod works fine, but enabling the radar version means the plane will just not show in mission, does not cause a crash or anything, so i guess i'm just missing a file or something.

Tried it in a default DBW 1.71 game with no other mods enabled and still the same result so i suppose i can rule out a conflict, stumped on this one, may have to wait and see if somebody can create a separate slot and see if that works.

Has anyone tried this on a default DBW game with little or no mods? wondering if the radar version calls on some files in another mod that i do not have installed?

Thanks for your help anyway mate, but it looks like for me at least, this mod is a no go.
