To get rid of the misplaced mesh you  need to go into the
3do/cockpit/He-280 folder and open the heir him file.

Near the bottom of the file you will see this entry:
 [Armorglass]
Mesh Armorglass
Parent Z_Gear
Attaching

You need to change it to this:

 [Armorglass]
Mesh Armorglass
hidden
Parent Z_Gear
Attaching

Note the word hidden .

CW

as such, except that i experience the following in cockpit once gears are raised.

Well, after all the crap you and I went through today trying to get this bird fixed, I'd like to put hidden on the whole damn thing. LOL :) I almost called Jim Beam to come over tonight. :)

skin shown above was by Donaghy but all the link are dead so if anyone has his three skins please post them back up!

Still had these "laying" around, here's Don's 280 skins:

How about this for a He 280 skin? Really good.

http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234955345-172-heinkel-he-280-from-rs-models/

Are there any plans to give this bird heavier armament of perhaps even for a He-280A or B version?

Not really sure as to how many out there ever fly this wonderful bird, just kind of wondering if some skilled individual could finish this ol' girl up. She really needs a completed cockpit for the external view and proper sized main landing gear.....P.S. If you haven't flown her, you just might give her a try...LOT'S OF FUN!!...P.S.S....she also has a kind or interesting history...(lots of politics involved).

Great to hear you want to make this skin, Max. Excellent.

Personally I like fictional backgrounds for scenarios or campaigns. With heavier armament and more power this would have been an interesting German answer to the Allied bomber offensive of 1943-44. Wouldn't have changed much, I know, but would be fun to fly with.

So yes, please better cockpit, better landing gear, better armament and more power. That would be grand.

That is a nice paint-scheme. I will do one for our game .

Yes, I have already begun doing a nice skin-template for some skins for this classic jet.
It is now looking very nice.
What we really need now is some better wheels on this airplane.
Everything else looks great now on this new 3D-model.

Any progress yet, Max?

I'm thinking about making a what-if campaign for this plane. What if it had been ready to counter the Allied bomber offensive of 1943-1944? But I would need heavier armament then, because the present armament is not sufficient against heavy bombers. And more power to really make a difference. Is anybody willling to adjust that? Or can it even be done?
