Nice looking model.
I presume you will be modelling the ship for the MTO in WWII?

Modelling Guidelines

Capital Ships and Carriers  max 10000 to 20000 triangles
Cruisers 5000 to 12000 triangles
Destroyers and other minor ships less than 5000 triangles

Scale of model must be 1 unit equals 1 metre.

Larger models will work but may have a bad effect on the FPS in the game.
The textures skins should not be greater than 1024x1024 pixels. You could have two of those if required.
Some additional small textures may be used for special parts.

Most models make use of Alpha Cut (32bit) textures to create holes.

First task is to create the basic LOD0 model and apply the textures to it.

I can provide models of PomPom guns, 20mm Oerlikon AA, etc for you to add to the model when you are ready.

The completed model will comprise a series of meshes

LOD0-LOD6
Shadow Meshes
Collision Boxes
Effect Hooks
Damage Meshes
java files to enable the game to use the model.

The first step is to complete the LOD0 -- Good luck with your project.

First many thanks for the tips! I have there a problem with the relative importance! Where from I know whether does my model correspond to the graduation of IL2? Maybe it is too big or too small. Is there no base model Possibly to check this in?

Nice ships you got there.Also you Algerine Class Escort Minesweeper looks really good. I never noticed that it looks almost the same as the Australian Bathurst class corrvette which I am currectly working on.

I Sure everyone will help you out with any issues that you may come across.

Cross section on the 2nd page shows the profile of the bulges which may be a little different to your images.





Also you can see the pronounced "flare" of the upper part of the bow.

Just want to say if you need to use parts/guns or simply see a stock ship in il2 you could always use the SFS Extractor that can be found here.
But you already may know this ;)

Since I'm not a modeler but only a sort of intermediary: Is there what concrete where you can match the size directly in the 3d program? (I only transmit the information to our modelers!)

Your 3D software uses "generic" units.
1 unit in your 3D model must equal 1 metre in real life.

I start with images of elevation, plan and cross sections and ensure that they are all the same scale, then arrange them behind, below and at each end of the model in the "usual way".  These are my "RefPlans"

The I create a ScaleBox  -- length width and height equal to length, breadth and draft of the ship. I then select all of the RefPlans and adjust their scale to match the ScaleBox --- like this image.



When I am happy that it all fits ok I can "Hide" the ScaleBox and begin to make the model.

If the Plans actually have dimensions of frame lines marked on then these can be used directly to adjust the scale of the RefPlans. You will only get this on very detailed plans.


---- Or you can make the model to any scale, then when completed scale it up or down to the correct size.

Our Modeler would like to know why these low limits? It is located on IL2?:

With us (i know one should compare apples not to pears) one works with much higher values. The Terror should have quite only 20k!
