The Duel: 1917

Hey all,
Here's my best movie yet, a real epic.  ;D
Set to the music of Titanic. (1998)

Dedicated to Max_thehitman for all his awesome work.
 Here's to you, mate!  ;D

A lone German fighter speeds through the early morning French drizzle en-route to Peronne aerodrome, an RFC airbase near St Quentin. He narrowly misses being blown apart by a heavy British flak bombardment, and raises hell at the airfield.

The Albatros pilot is surprised by a Sopwith Camel; the duel begins.
In this way many young, head-strong pilots were consigned to the mud of Flanders.

You show a real talent for this stuff, Alotef. If I were you I'd keep it up. I enjoy watching your eye getting sharper with each effort. However, you may find that you won't have any time to actually play the game by the time you get the letter from Steven Spielberg.

Thanks guys, you're all too kind!  :D
@propnut27 You're correct to a degree. There's something addictive in creating these movies and it's satisfying to implement new techniques with each offering. I find myself shooting more footage than shooting actual aircraft!  ;D

The real pleasure in making the films comes from seeing the enjoyment you guys get from it and from supporting and advertising the community, so I'm really glad that you guys enjoy them. :)

You can see how you employ more cinematographic technics and improve the result in every movie. Thanks for the free cinema.

One of the great things about this game is that it offers so many different ways to enjoy it. Playing it is just one. We have the A/C modders, the ship modders, the vehicle modders, the "stuff" modders, the mapmakers, the mission and campaign designers, and those, like yourself, who derive great satisfaction from exploring the cinematic possibilities.

Please note I haven't even mentioned the vast crowd of people who just play it, and who marvel at the talent, technical savvy, and insight of the others who have taken this flight sim to ever greater levels of sophistication and enjoyability.

We can never thank you all enough for all your efforts.

AH! Bravo !! Bravo!! Bravissimo!!
That was a spectacular film!  I truly enjoyed seeing this one and the music is spot on and blends in with all the action.
It creates the mood right from the start to the finish. *2 thumbs up* The story is quite good for such a short film. You
did very well in capturing the moment.

You said the sound was coming from Titanic, for a moment I though you were going to play Celine Dion "My heart will
gooo oooooonnnnn *glup*glup*glup*
I am glad you choose an orchestral arrangement. It suits these films much better... unless its about "LULU"  :-*
Then you can put on Celine Dion  ;D

Thanks for creating this film Mike
Your a regular Steven Spielberg of the IL-2 world.

Thanks Max!   :)
I'm sure Lulu would appreciate a bit of Celine, for sure!  :P
Who knows, maybe the sequel??
