Push stick forward to raise the tail, you'll get enough lift at 90-100km/h. It takes some practice. :)

Hi, vpmedia. Keep the chocks in, and the radiator closed. Full throttle for about ten seconds. Chocks away. It should getup to 50 mph before you run out of runway. AI willl take off too. I just did a Dover StOmer test mission. I did it with and without a wingman.

cheers

the problem is that the plane was to take off spending three times more than you need, and only on the acceleration in X16 can quickly soar

Yeah, we could use the help of a FM expert in DBW-1916, flight model of Nieuport.11, Friedrichshafen G.III, Caproni.32/33 would require changes too imho.

Be2c on its independent own slot (I found the cockpits files that GIO looked for without success - probably he used an outdated sfs filelist) - so whoever has only SASModact without DBW1916 can enjoy this beauty

download link:
https://www.mediafire.com/?u15pvr4njormemz

Air.ini additions:
BE2c             air.BE2c 1                                   gb01  SUMMER

plane_ru.properties  :
BE2c         R.A.F.BE2c, 1914

weapons_ru.properties
####################################################################
# BE2c
#####################################################################
BE2c.default                            Default
BE2c.4xBombs                       4x20lbs Cooper bombs
BE2c.NoGun_4xBombs          4x20lbs Cooper bombs (No Gun)
BE2c.none                               Empty

For the skin use the folder:
BE2c

you'll need also to install this ww1 weapons pack in your mods folder (#SAS folder)

Dreamk would you mind looking at this plane again.
I installed it in my Modact today and it has no cockpit.
Game starts and can pick it in QMB but when you start your not in the cockpit.

Hi David Prosser, I've noted your tips to get the B.E.2c aloft and they work for me (after a fashion! )  :D
A few of questions.....

Can you take off from a grass airstrip?

Can you take off with the new heavier ordinance from dreamk? (excellent piece of work IMO)

Where's the radiator on this aircraft?

I've found that the slightest touch on the rudder bar and or too much movement on the joystick digs her in and the speed drops dramatically!

At the moment I'm managing to take off 1 time out of 3  :D

Many thanks for any tips......

Cheers

Alfie

PS I love this old girl  :-*

Hi, Alfie, I'm pretty sure I did t/o from a grass airstrip. I was using the Somme map. I haven't used IL2 since I left Korea for New-Zealand in late November. so I don't know about how it flies with a bomb load. As for the radiator. Assign a key to it. That will open and close it.

cheers

Gentlemen.

I worked the fm for two days and she final takes off normally in 4.1.1.1m or HSFX 6.1.17. The parameter [gear] was for a seaplane evidently and the value WaterClipList 2524 not necessary ( was actually preventing acceleration and a proper takeoff rpm) I also lowered the sinkfactor to 2000. On my system, with HSFX6 + DBW maps, with the original FM, she would just not accelerate on any map; spawned in flight was fine.

Jack

PS for test,  I've attached my button + flight model  :)
