UV3 additions

Hi all.
Despite my efforts to get the levels right on my Xonar DX I simply could not get UV3's engines loud enough-or more precisely the weapon sounds were SO OVERWHELMINGLY LOUD that I couldn't turn the sound up as much as Id like without risking permanent hearing damage  :D.
So I edited some of the samples.
I changed the volume level of the weapons to suite my needs (as I pretty much only fly the 109 those are the only weapons Ive changed). They are quieter now, which makes it easier to pump up the volume to better enjoy the engines.
Ive also changed the rates of fire to correct cyclic rates (give or take a few RPM) and replaced some sounds (MGFF/151).
So here's the link. Many thanks to Tiger for consenting to my request to post these up.
Samples manipulated are almost entirely all from Tiger's UV3, with a few of my own. No PRS edits of any kind-just sound samples.
To install-Download, extract the Sounds_UV3_Guns folder and add it to your mod folder.
Tested with DBW The Full Monty.

Also: I hate the stock I-16's sounds, so here's my attempt at a fix.
To my ear the Avia Skins sound mod was just hands down the best for Soviet aircraft. So I took the Avia skins sound mod and extracted what was needed to make the I-15/16/153 sounds work in DBW. Tigers mod didn't seem to touch upon the I-15/16/153 so these wont conflict at all.
Very little work of my own here. I just extracted/manipulated the samples, edited some PRS settings and slapped them together.
Hopefully they improve the game for all yall.

Note: Unfortunately the HS-129 also uses the same sounds, so if you fly it often, these probably aren't for you.

I thought that's all the Soviets did-throw wings on their tractors and call it a day?



Pretty cool looking tractor though if you ask me.

Hello. ^^

I have to say, your work was very well made on this mod for UV3.

However, I see no difference in other planes. The weapon sounds are still as loud a drum to the ear. ;~;

If you could give info on how to fix this, or provide an update for this addition to UV3, I'd be very grateful. ^^

Have to agree that the guns are so loud and the flybys are quite low.  I have my UV3 in HSFX 6.  Looked for samples to adjust but none there.

As I mentioned above,its a good idea to reduce the Gun Sound level for every Plane to increase the In-cockpit Engine sound level via the Pc-Speakers.Maybe this is the only solution without a complete rework of the whole Sound mod.(wich is a huge task for sure...)

Btw..my Soundcard is a Realtek ALC887 @ ATI SB750 - High Definition Audio Controller

Well well boys, first you need to look into the sfs files. But now worries the low volumes engine lovers pack for my sound mod is coming out in like.... 2-3 hours?

Reducing the amplitude of the sound samples is like coding intentionally broken web pages so that Internet Explorer renders them correctly (this used to be a popular web design trend back in the days when IE5 and IE6 were the dominant browsers on the market, before Netscape transformed into Mozilla, and other viable browsers entered market).

Is it possible to reduce sound volume on a per-sample basis in the preset (*.prs) files?

The value to be tweaked is the SPL one, and still not sure, I believe it modifies the sound volume of the external sounds ...
