Cool gliding/low-rotor-rpm pic there, that Hip almost makes me wanna have a arcade-ish blast on BFV for old times sake; but lack of HDD space...
mmm I also want to skin it my ahistoric/custom OpenJungleCanopy or AridDessert camo patterns/schemes.

Looks Great :)

And (as has been already mentioned) the disembarking personnel opens up new possibilities.

Exellent work! Very nice to see that machine in Il-2 sim. If I'm not mistaken you make Mi-8T modification? Model is good, but i've seen some issues: exhaus tubes are little shorter, and not covered with anything, and lower cocpit windows are nealy twice shorter then upper. Also Mi-8T tail rotor is mounted on right side of vertical stab (On left side it mounted on Mi-8MT, modification with other engines and APU). Ewerything else is fine, if you need information about that aircraft, I can can help you while work eweryday with them. Sorry for my bad english.

Them Hips used to annoy the heck out of me with seemingly endless streams of rockets - now I might finally be able to "properly" fly them! Also, nice "scratched" skin - I'll feel home in an aircraft like that!  :P ;D

Thank you! Now I know the secret about tail rotor. Actually for the first time it was on the right side, but then I`ve looked at photos and realized that it is on the left.

I`ll flip it once more :)

Also can you explain about exhaust tubes more? I mean should I make them longer or shorter?

Also I am fully aware about front lower windows, but I am not sure if it is possible to fix it at this moment, but I`ll try.

Thank you for your replies, guys :)

Okey, not at all:) The outer part of the exhaust pipe is nearly 15sm (~7inches) long, so make them little shorter. And don't beware about windows, I specifically looked at it today, in real machine they look more like your model than the draw. Uspechov tebe, zemlyak pochti)

copy that! 15cm. Will do, and allso I`ll remove the cover inside the pipe.

Big thanks for your tips. I am really new to helicopters so I really need a help from an expert :)

Can you make more clear aout front low windows, because I am also not sure about them. I`ve already redid them few times before making those screenshots.

looks amazing so far, IL2 1946 does need Russian helos, only question is what load outs are you planning for this beauty?

Ok, you may not correct lower windows, they looks normal. Sorry for late answer, i've got a lot of work that month.

BUMP!

After some time I`ve got very disappointed with current model of Mi-8 that I`ve exported so I decided to look for a new one.

Luckily I`ve got a permission from the author of this mod to convert his model into IL-2.
http://marcfighters.combatace.com/Aircrafts.htm

Hurray to Marcfigters for his amazing work on 3d and HD skins and available template!

Conversion of that model was not the easiest process, because it lost smoothing and all parts were misaligned after import into 3ds max (I think modders understand what I mean). But after some time here it is:

Also Flight model got much better. Cockpit might follow also.

So all in all it is coming into your hands in a fortnight or so.  ;)

Huzzah! Congrats and thank you for your perseverance. By all accounts importing models from outside Il-2 is much harder than punters like me could imagine, but this looks cracking. Can't wait :)
