Well, I couldn't do otherwise when Ranwers and Loku gave us this premature Christmas gift: the Bloch MB.152, I have fixed a campaign for all of you that want to try this a bit quirky but well-armed aircraft in 1940 combat. It's called "Fighting the Tide":
This 17 mission static semi-historical campaign is basically an adaptation of my old campaign “Glory and Defeat”, but with a number of changes, the most important being the simple fact that the player uses the Bloch MB152 (instead of the Morane-Saulnier 406). Also there are more escort missions, as this was a task often given to units equipped with the MB152 in 1940.
You can download it here: http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads3&file=details&id=1525You are a French fighter pilot flying the Bloch MB152. The campaign commences with the Blitzkrieg phase, starting on May 10, with the actions against Belgium, swiftly followed by the breakthrough at Sedan, the dash for the Channel, and finally the air actions of the final weeks before the armistice on June 25. (At this date French aerial resistance had virtually ceased, with a number surviving aircraft withdrawing to French North Africa.) Many missions in this campaign are based on actual events. In the final mission you make a dash for England, hoping to reach that green and friendly island before the gasoline runs out (the MB.152 had a poor range) or prowling Luftwaffe aircraft gets you...
The requirements are simple:
- Dark Blue World
- plus Ranwer's and Loku's Bloch MB.152 - of course
- Ranwer's Do-17Z
- The superb Westfront 1940 map by GilB57
