I have the same too... But as I fly mostly FSX the Extreme 3D Pro makes a 180 degree turn a workout. The Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2 is so much easier to turn with, but it has less buttons. I think it's more reliable though because the 3D Pro gets screwed up after a short time for some people (controls jiggle when you don't even touch the stick).

Microsoft Sidewinder FFB II, the best! I have 4 of them, 1 to scrap parts, and be using it for 9 years, only replacing buttons switches from time to time. You can find it in EBay, Amazon, etc...

If I had the money to spend, and wanted a stick. I would have bought me one with a separate throttle and added rudder pedals .
If you choose x-52 pro or no pro, used cougar or a new warthog. If you are dedicated simpilot you will never regret it.
If you only fly now and then not really that into it, buy cheap

What is the suggested dual throttle joystick? I flew mostly the P-38 Lightning, and I think it's really need a dual throttle, the get the maximum out of the plane. The Saitek Fly 5 was not suggested here, said it's flimsy and fragile. I want to put on again the IL2 on my "new" (2year old) laptop, after I haven't played the game about more than 2years.

X-52 Pro is the best investment.  I have had both Pro and non Pro.  The improvement in quality of the trim is worth the price of admission.
Since I started flying IL2 in 04 I have had a few sticks.  Started with a Logitech and then the X45.  Now I have a Warthog and X-52 Pro.
The X-52 Pro software is the best there is.  I can program complex or simple commands.  Anyone can do it if you are patient.
Also dont forget to add the CD box mod to your X-52 pro or non pro for a little extra stiffnes.

My thoughts....

Sorry man, Microsoft did not make software for Win 7  :'(  I have 3 of them and I am changing them to use different "heads" because of this problem.

You take a piece off the top of CD box and you put it above the spring to add tension.
See this video.
Best no money mod of all time :o

You will spend money replacing Saitek, and Logitek  and Thrust Master joy sticks over time so you might as well just go and buy these, I have been using mine for years now with no problems......

The programability is unmatched by anything else in my opinion.........

I have the Fighter Stick, Pro Throttle, Pro Pedals, and MFP.....

http://www.chproducts.com/Consumer-Products-v13-p-124.html#5

Love them and would never replace them, unless they made these available of course.....

I really want to like my Fighterstick but the transtion from X to Y is really porked.  For durability you cant beat them but I just cant fly with that stick.
