The links provided are for Yorktown CV-10 and Hornet CV-12.

Plowshares project concerns the earlier carriers Yorktown CV-5 and Hornet CV-8.

The Fighting Lady, although a great bit of film in its own right, is also about CV-10 not CV-5.

Enterprise CV-6 had pretty much a complete change in AA armament in 1943.
I believe that the limiting factor in how much could be added was increase in top weight and hence reduced stability. The addition of anti-torpedo bulges to CV-6 also enhanced stability but in this case the beam was limited by the width of the Panama Canal locks.

grumpf44:

The first book has absolutely the best shots of all three ships I've seen to date; the overhead shots particularly will be most helpful. Thank you!
