i'm struggling way more with this heli than some others, compared to most who seem to be getting it going well.
it's not so much the taking off, landing and flying itself, but the fact that it seems to sometimes not even want to lift off, even at 100% throttle.
if i push it to 100%, then it overheats and the motors burn out within a minute.
anything less than 100%, and i can't even lift it above tree height.
then, the main problem i have if i do get her flying, is that she sometimes decides to pull, gently at first, to one side, left or right, and when she does this, it's tickets - nothing i do will recover, she just rolls over into the ground....
what's up with that, me hearties?
in the first pic below, you can see that although i'm at 100% throttle, i cannot gain any more height than this, and the motors are already cooked, even though this is mere seconds after takeoff.....

Its hard to lift off because you forgot to take the cow off the passenger compartment in the back.
I know there is a cow in there somewhere  ;D

Weird for malone, when I do 100% throttle it wants to be a spaceship and go 90 degrees up!  But at a lower throttle it is very controllable, able to pull battlefield 3 moves like 360 tight turns in a very small space and I have done 3 loops in a row at 500m before stalling and crashing in the ground!

stop to quote pics!!!

1. Make sure you use both engines :D
2. If it still doesn't go up, push the stick and get some speed. Huey is so heavy that it has to do rolling take off often (as IRL).

i'm using both engines, so i don't know what the deal is.
i didn't have such problems with the earlier beta version, for example....
she also is very reluctant o get speed up, so any forward movement on the stick takes her back down to the ground.
seeing as i already not far from the ground, there's not much i can do.
if my fraps will allow me to, i'll try and record a clip.
i don't know if i put up an ntrk, rather, if it will be watchable by others....?

14 minutes of hover.....if only...
the flight input from my side is okay, i don't need to be told how to fly the thing, thanks.
my problem is the overheating.
it happens within seconds of hitting anywhere over 90% throttle, and then the engines start losing power anyway, due to the overheating, at which point i plough into the ground even while at 100% throttle.
obviously, because i'm losing power, i i have no choice but to go 100%, but that is still insufficient.
so - if i can sort out the overheating, i should be okay.

Pretty much exactly the same thing for me except I've noticed different behaviors on different maps! But usually, I'm struggling to get it off the ground and climb without burning up the engines. (forget getting over a moderate sized mountain) I, too, have issues with the slow pull to one side or the other and sudden plunge to destruction. Until that occurs, flying is usually very stable.

Hey, it's still wonderful and once you get used to the little quirks, a lot of fun. I realize it's still being tweaked so I feel confident it will be climbing and hovering like the champ it is in no time. Thanks again for this beautiful new addition.
