Divine Wind
« on: January 18, 2010, 05:58:00 PM »

Kamikaze version of A6M5...it's actualy A6M3 on the screenshot...and it looks so good I decided to keep
the picture instead of going through the trouble of making another one (ya,I'm lazy :P).It is loaded with
explosives (500kg extra weight),one of these can sink a carrier :).Bomb is there permanently,
it can't be dropped.
It uses A6M5 files and fm,so this is like 5kb mod.Extract to MODS and copy lines from included txt file.
AI pilots are crazy ;D,just put a few ships on the map and watch these guys :)..or you can try to survive the onslaught of ships AAA :D
Put the last waypoint near the target low (~100m).

And remember, aim for the center of the ship ;)

Download Kamikaze

Edit:

Thanks to Stefan SG for making this mod compatible with 4.12.1/ModAct 5.21. Cheers dude!

Breathtaking stuff!!!! Placed USS Lexington and a cruiser on the Benghali map, put a static camera nearby, eight Kamikazes, and I watched the battle! It was like watching a WWII documentary!

Very nice :)

How do you set them up for a kamakazi attack?

Very cool mod!

Just two observations though:

1) The wing cannons seem to have been swapped for machine guns, is this intentional?

2) The explosion effects for land/sea seem to be the wrong way around. When I crashed the Kamikaze plane into a number of parked aircraft at an airfield it resulted in a giant fountain of water... in the middle of the landscape!?

How do you set them up for a kamakazi attack?
I made the trial mission with 5 kamikaze taking off on Pacific Islands map  and attacking Lexington and found that the attack to be done there must not be any waypoints after the target, to which the Set ground attack is made.
The mission should be started in FMB by : Fly, Ctrl-F2, since there is not any player plane.
The mission can be d/l here
https://www.mediafire.com/file/aydy1n2izjj/Kamikaze1.mis
and pasted simply into your Mission folder.
Another curious observation is , that after sinking the ship, remaining kamikaze return to their airfield, but do not lower their landing gears, but not explode when touching the land, only when collising with each other.
