okay, installed the F-84G and KB-29 mod, which i was missing, and my bombers are now all working great.
problem solved - thanks for the assists! :D

PS: not related to these bombers, but is it a known issue that the F-84G seems incapable of taking off without burning its engine, either as AI or manual piloting?  :P

Always glad to help. :)
According to the F-84, yes indeed, there is a problem  :(, solved only off "engine overheat".

Te early versions of the B-52 did had an remotely controlled tailgun from the ground, later versions did mounted an radarguided gun system.

good work on the Bombers mate :)

Got it working in 4.12 with the 4.12 engine mod, as well as Jetbomber and the F84G thundercat.

However, as far as I can tell, the B-52 uses the cockpit from the Jetbomber, which itself uses the cockpit from the F84G thundercat.

The F84G thundercat is a single-seat fighter cockpit, not very appropriate for a massive bomber like the B-52 that certainly had two seats at the least.

I've tried to copy over the C-47 cockpit, which is the cockpit I want, but there's no way to do so, as far as I can tell. If I try replacing the Thundercat's cockpit folder with the C-54's cockpit folder (from another mod), the cockpit just doesn't load.

Is there any easy way to get this plane to use the appropriate, two-seater bomber cockpit? And not some tight fighter cockpit?

Thanks,

-GTA

Sure you can use another cockpit in the B-52.
It does however not work with replacing some folder with another, but with modifying the B-52's Java class, respectively its cockpit class ..
if you can call this easy or not depends only on your Java skills ;)

If I asked you extremeeemely nicely, and even added a couple of "smiley" emotes, do you think you could possibly modify the jar files for me? :^)

I have no knowledge in java coding, and I would really appreciate it so much.

Actually, maybe you could tell me how to do it, so then I could do it myself with other cockpits with other aircraft.

You know, the old "teach a schmoe to fish, give a schmoe a fish".

I would be immensely appreciative if you could help me out on this. I've basically been waiting for a jet airliner for such a long time, and the only thing left now is the cockpit.

Well, the problem I see is that the Cockpit of the C-54 (which is the pit of the C-47 btw) is from a two engine AC built in the early 30's .. you simply can't compare that to the pit of an eight engine Jet Bomber from the late 40's. Imho the F84 pit is a far better approximation.
Sure, it is the pit of a single seated fighter, but at least it doesn't lack that many instruments and lights as the C-47 pit does ..

I see, however, I really want the C-47 cockpit on there. I'm playing it for the flight-sim civilian feeling, and less for the historical accuracy feeling. Therefore, anything that isn't a two-seater cockpit is a huge let-down for me. The C-47 cockpit is best because it's a civvie cockpit.

Do you think you could possibly help me? :)
