Skin request for a couple of RAF / PAF Spitfires
« on: April 06, 2013, 03:52:06 PM »

Hi guys, anybody out there a spitfire expert,
I have a request for a couple of Spitfires as flown by Witold Lanowski during his career with 317 and 302 squadrons at woodvale and Northolt.
Firstly 317 SQ Mk Vb designation letters JH-Y  serial W3970 ( I do have a profile pic of this spit but cannot seem to attach any pics to this message as ther is no option to do so)
secondly 302 Sq Mk IX designation letters WX-F  serial MJ783

If they can be skinned that would be fantastic

I would need a little more info for the MkV, an aprox month and year of its service as the Colours and markings of the RAF fighters changed drasticly during the service life of the MkV.

Sorry mate, those are dificult to find skins. Probably never been painted a skin yet.
But good news, I found you a 302 Sq spitfire.

Spitfire MkVb RAF 302Sqn WX-C AA853 England Oct 1941

I believe those white stripes on the engine are invasion markings for the Dieppe Raid and
not the Normandy D-Day invasion markings.

Phas3e,
If you send me your email I can send you a couple of colour profile pics

Max. That's great. Dad was in 302 from early 43 till march 44. This was his main spit but in his log book he flew quite a few diff ones.
Thanks for your reply guys

I've never seen such small roundel appear on any RAF plane, quite unique skin from this point of view too.
Nice work (I've seen it in the screenshot thread) :)

Thanks vpmedia.
Yep, found those. 121 escadrille was his first FS posting after officer school so these 2 polish campaigns very close to home. Part 2 of the series has the 56thFG as well!

He graduated from Deblin with Skalski and Zumbach in hi class. He was asked to return as an instructor and when the Niemcy invaded was requested to lead the cadets out if Poland which is what he did travelling south through Czech and Rumania eventually getting a boat in Yugoslavis to France. Quite a story being published spring 2014

Thanks for these matey, I found these links, Gabszewicz flew this spit after my father had left 302 to join Gabreski at the 56th.
Fortunately I have his log book with every dag logged with plane, reg mission and duration to back up my claims.
Great finds guys
