Curtiss SOC-3 Seagull Seaplane
« on: April 17, 2013, 09:51:25 PM »

I would love to see a Curtiss SOC-3 Seagull Seaplane.  It exists in both CFS2, FS9 and FSX. There is also a lot of really good pictures on the 'net which I downloaded probably 40 pages of stuff last night and I have the Profile #194 and I have it in PDFs for the builder to use.  I am new to IL2; my good friend got me interested; I've got 2000 hours in commercials in FS9.  .  I fly great, but a real IL2 novice.  I don't really know what you need to create this being brand new to IL2.  As I said, I have the Profile #194 and more photos.  The USCG said they have original drawings and I have written an email to them.  The profile has photos of the pilot's cockpit and the gunners cockpit.  In the Rules, it said to include dwgs, photos, etc.  So here they are plus I have some more photos:

It'd certainly be nice to see, tgycgijoes. Unfortunately, I don't have the ability to import it. I haven't a clue where to start. However, a lot of seaplanes have been released in the last year or so. So I wouldn't be too surprised to see either this, or the Kingfisher appear in say six months.

cheers

but if this is to be made in scratch, we need technical data there.

Yes, that's true, WIM~Einfeld11. If either plane is in FS2004, it could be imported. Although I understand that importing a plane is almost as much work as making it from scratch. The request above looks like it would be a good starting point for making one from scratch
