Pitty of course .. but it seemed as very probable outcome lately. They could have decided on that sooner though instead of feeding for so long misleading announces about new version to community. They also could have left it in hand of other devs, not plagued with real life issues for that work to not get lost.
What interests me most - which mod will take over it's role? Nature doesn't like emptiness. There is limit for how long old UP versions will still be considered more worthy choice then new features/fixes/mods/models/maps/planes continuously evolving elsewhere, sooner or later even biggest diehards will think about switch, modmakers most probably will decide on if it's really worth to waste time on ensuring compatibility with something now certainly dead when all the rest are moving on.

I think the UP3.1 is not Ready for Deployment. We Have to wait for Upcoming Future.

Hades disappeared from the modding scene and Zuti decided to keep all his works on UP 3.1 private.
Manysh had access to most of the UP 3.1 files but he decided to stick to Zuti's advice not to share it.
Shame on Zuti for this selfish attitude.

UP 3.1 will never be.

But we keep working on UP3 and continue improving and bugfixing it with our Patch Packs at least.

UP3 with Zuti MDS features like RRR & moving frontline was one my favourite  IL2-1946's avatars  :( :( :(
