Arado Ar 68
« on: April 26, 2013, 03:10:22 AM »

Ar 68 was one of the most famous training aircraft of Luftwaffe during WWII. Its development began in the early 1930 's and resulted in two serial version Ar 68E-1 and Ar 68F-1. These aircraft were also used in combat. In the period of 1937-1938, operated the Legion Condor and Spain Grupo G-9 three Ar 68E-1 as night fighters. Arado´s proved obsolete and their further development development did´t continue. Even though the Luftwaffe deployed the remaining aircraft shortly at the beginning of WWII. The Ar 68E-1 aircraft served for several months in (Nachtjagd) JG 72 and patrolled at the German-French border. Later on Ar 68E-1 began units II./JG 2 and 5./JG 52. When was III./JG 53 rearm on Bf 109E, their 7. Staffel were renamed to 10 (Nachtjagd) JG 53 and fly with Ar 68F-1 in area Odheim-Heilbronn all winter 1939/1940. Many aircraft of both version flew in FFS (Fliegerfühererschule) during all war.

I like this aircraft as well. Hopefully, one day someone may do this one. These pre-war planes are very nice, and this one would make a good companion to the He-51 we have already.  :)

Excellent request, slejsa. It's difficult to tell if any modder will pick the project up. However, it might stimulate someone's imagination.

cheers
