I've hit an interesting problem, idk if i'm doing something wrong or what, i go to copy it to make my life a little easier on the lonnng runways and dock areas but when i right click and paste......nothing....i can right click and unselect all, but no objects appear and there doesnt seem to be any reaction at all when i click paste....is there something more to it than just right click copy, right click paste?

ps whats a reccomended site to post screens on to then post here?

www.photobucket.com is a pretty decent site to use as a photodump. There are others around of course.

Il-2 is a temperamental game. Whenever something doesn't work as it should, such as the copy/paste function not working, the best thing to do is simply save your work and reboot the map maker. This happens to me on occasion as well and instead of puttering around and trying out this or that, I've found it's best to save and reboot.

Sometimes, if you exit ll-2 map maker via alt+tab to go to another application, then map maker will act up when you return and start behaving as you describe above. Not always, but sometimes ... I've never found out why, it just does and then I save and reboot - unless I get too exasperated and do something completely different ...

I'venever gotten the copy/paste to work even once though :/
And I know what you mean with the acting up, in normal fmb if you alt tab out or comp goes to sleep, placing objects in 2d mode will place the object down and left from the cursor...can be quite annoying!

As for the question about static objects, yes, if you place them yourself...

You are referring to the map maker version of Il-2 I suppose?

To copy, press down on alt and at the same time drag with mouse around the objects you wish to copy, keeping left mouse button depressed. You can, by the way, select as many groups of objects in sequence as you wish ... just keep alt key depressed ...Then hit classic ctrl+C ...

Move to where you wish to paste objects and then hit copy+V ...

This does not work in the FMB game version though ... only in map maker.

I should correct myself, if you place the object yourself or can open the map in the map editor, then yes you can add/delete static objects, the map editor is a modified version of the game making the full mission builder into the map editor, Kevinp has a tutorial on this site on how to enable map editing and in general map building basics...I don't have the link to it in front of me right now

Town and airfield of Dain clinging to the side of the mountain:

The airfield is intentionally short and tricky to approach as a fun challenge perhaps...it is only approachable from one direction. I have had the AI successfully land 1 Fi-153 on it, but for some reason all subsequent flights ran into the mountain side (all were flights of 1 and spaced about 5 min apart, the crashes came when the planes made a final loop over the airfield before landing, crashed into the mountainside)

On a side note to this, I hope tomake some new skins for several aircraft and make a few campaigns and single missions when the map is finished. Also want to make a couple new squadrons with their own insignias and possibly create a new s-boat (exact same as stock only with a different texture applied and its own slot....atleast if I am able to do a that, that is...)
