Hi Phoenix,

for your copy/paste problem, check your conf.ini. In the section [HotKey builder], make sure you have the line "Ctrl C=copy". If you don't, just add it, this should work.

Here is my [HotKey builder] section:
Code: [Select]
[HotKey builder]
MouseLeft=objectMove
MouseRight=popupmenu
Enter=freeView
Shift MouseLeft=worldZoom
Alt MouseLeft=select+
Alt MouseRight=select-
Alt Ctrl=unselect
PageDown=change+
PageUp=change-
End=change++
Home=change--
Ctrl MouseLeft=insert+
Insert=insert+
NumPad-0=insert+
F=fill
Ctrl MouseRight=delete+
NumPad.=delete+
Delete=delete+
Backspace=cursor
Tab=cursor
F10=land
F11=onLand
NumPad-=normalLand
NumPad+=toLand
NumPad-5=resetAngles
NumPad-8=resetTangage90
NumPad-7=stepAzimut-5
NumPad-4=stepAzimut-15
NumPad-1=stepAzimut-30
NumPad-9=stepAzimut5
NumPad-6=stepAzimut15
NumPad-3=stepAzimut30
Ctrl C=copy
Ctrl X=cut
Ctrl V=paste
Right=bridgeRight
Left=bridgeLeft
Up=bridgeOffset+
Down=bridgeOffset-

And here is the list of possible controls in map maker FMB. Add the commands you want in your  [HotKey builder]section and assign a key (eg. "Ctrl+L=selectLowLand" to be able to select this tile without using mouse and pop-up menu):
Code: [Select]
toLand
normalLand
land
stepAzimut-5
stepAzimut-15
stepAzimut-30
stepAzimut5
stepAzimut15
stepAzimut30

resetTangage90

edited: for lists please use 'code' instead 'quote'.

Hope this helps  :).

Thanks, but I got it working soon after commenting about it being broken (as broken things seem to do >.> as soon as you go looking for how to fix them, they start working right)

Haven't been working on this as much as I should have past couple days, been dealing with some scammers, but have hit an interesting problem...on my airfield on top of the central mountain, aircraft won't land....they approach but then just circle as if told traffic on runway....there is no radio chatter that I'm aware of between aircraft and base. I am wondering if its altitude is what's doing it? The base is at about 3900 meters, have tried both bombers and fighters to no avail...

Well due to some rather confusing and quite infuriating problems, I am having to start from scratch :( part of the problems started when my coastline suddenlychanged to extremely jagged and with tiny islands near some of the jaggedness, it's almost as if the brightness or something was lowered as several rivers got about twice as big.....had some similar problems before where 2 smaller islands disappeared.....anyone have any idea what may be causing these things?

Land appearing or disappearing on a map along the coastline or in the ocean is usually caused by manipulations to unformatted map_C ... White makes land appear, black makes water appear and the various shades of gray along the coats or rivers or anywhere at all, will cause various types of shallows to appear, with the typical moving lines of surf ...

If your coastline has become jagged, try softening the coast lines on map C .. if islands have disappeared, find their location on your original map derived from the DEM and then remake those on map_c with the appropriate black and grey tones.

But when remaking islands, take care to also have maps T and H in accord with the positions of the islands on map_c ... otherwise you may get water areas raised up ...

The map wasnt from a DEM, but the occurances would commonly happen when I would exit, then return to the map the next day or so....ex. the island would be there when I exit the sim, I come back to it the next day and when I open it up I get the black screen with a white square (I assume this means that the C and H maps aren't lining up properly as often a little blurring along the coastline in gimp will fix it) and when I would open up the H map to look at what was going on, the island would be gone. I am thinking it may have something to do with the way Gimp saves or something, I am not sure, but the black screen/white square would happen occasionally even if I had not even done any height editing or messed around any with the H map

Well, without seeing the files there's little I can say, except to repeat that it is map_c which controls where water or land or surf appears in the game.

Map_t has no influence on that. If you place land textures over a water area, you simply won't see anything except water.

If your map_H is misaligned and shows heights where water should be, it will simply show up in the game as very odd and annoying looking fractal hills in water ...

They all need to be aligned properly of course.

You can make a new unformatted map_C from the formatted version with map_C toolbox. With the unformatted map_C you can then perhaps see where the problems are ...

Ah, ok thanks
would that be the map_c or mymap_c? I know with the coast align tool you have to use the mymap_c
As for starting over, atleast its giving me the oppurtunity to go ahead and do some massive changes to the terrain on a large scale

The unformatted map_C is indeed usually called My_mapC (though you can give it any name you please of course).

When it's run through the map_C toolbox utility to be formatted for the game, it's usually called Map_c.

These are just a convention, but by using these names, it's also easier to swap load.ini files between different maps without having to edit them extensively.
