When were the LanceR airframes built? (The original MiG before the LanceR program took hold of them)  ???

Don't really know, but I think they were sent from the USSR.

Romania recieved it's first order of mig-21 in 1962 from the USSR.

Romania recieved various comands of different types of Mig-21 from USSR starting from 1962 and still after 1980's.

These are all the Mig's-21 Romania ever had:

MiG-21 C
MiG-21 F-13
MiG-21 LanceR A
MiG-21 LanceR B
MiG-21 LanceR C
MiG-21 M
MiG-21 MF/MF-75
MiG-21 RFM
MiG-21 RFMM
MiG-21 U-400/600
MiG-21 UM
MiG-21 US

The Mig-23 and Mig-29 were both retired in the 2000's because Russia refused to offer spare parts for them and then Romania as a last resort conservated them and modernised the Mig-21 with Israeli tehnics.

Mig-21 LanceR A is modernised MiG-21 M and MF/MF-75.

Mig-21 LanceR B is modernised MiG-21 UM.

Mig-21 LanceR C is modernised MiG-21 MF/MF-75.

Yes, I remember seeing pictures of the MiG 29 "SNIPER":

I think it was modernized by Israel as well; but it fellvictim to the spare parts being unavailable.

And then these videos showed all the jets that are retired, in various locations across Romania.

It looks pretty bad at the Museum:
But I think they could at least put it in a hangar or a cover?

It would be better if our gouverment would consider another offer or at least to order the fabrics to produce a plane like the I.A.R.-93 which still flyes in Serbia as the J-22 Orao. Saab gripen or eurofighter would be great offers, those f-16 are more expensive to maintain and they are old too..

Personally I would love to see the Mig-29 flying again but that is impossible now..

The Sniper is exposed at the aviation museum which I hadn't had the chance to visit it yet and many mig's-21 which are not modernised as LanceR's and I.A.R.-93's are kept on airfields and they silently wait to be melted. The mig-23's and mig-29's are "conservated" on airfields under the sky in no hangar...

(the sniper is getting rustier and it's paint goes down more and more every year)

Very sad to see that happen.... BTW Kilo, I can understand Romanian, it is similar to Spanish so I can understand it! Actually for some fun I m going to say something in Spanish, and let's see if you can understand it:

Hola, Kilo. Tu eres un amigo bueno y sabes mucho sobre la fuerza aéreas de Rumanía.  También te gusta jugar juegos de simulación. Tu amigo Constantin también es como tu, es un encanto conocer a personas como vosotros.

Can you understand that?

Reply in Romanian and test me.  ;)
