I have been able to add the plane and the sub as AI only in a QuckQMBPro mission. I have tried to make a QuckQMBPro mission to fly it but it always says " Data Corrupt"

AI pics.....

I'm running DBW.

Magnificent work TenO! Great sub and magnifent plane. More over... I managed to take off with catapult power in my DBW version 4.101! This is what I did.
After install of both the plane and the sub, I copied this data

[I400_Srf]
dCatapultOffsetX 3.3
dCatapultOffsetY 0
catapultPower     35
bSteamCatapult 1

which can be found in the file inside your JapanSubmarines, which is the unzipped I-400 downloadof course, and added this to

Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\#DBW\!SAS_Engine_Mod_4101m_v26 (which is a great Mod by the way)\com\maddox\il2\objects\catapults. This repositions the Seiran more towards the middle of I-400 deck.

Next I altered the following data in the same file, (just on top) after backing up everything of course  :D

catapultPower 0
catapultPowerJets 0
bSteamCatapult 0

to

catapultPower 30
catapultPowerJets 0
bSteamCatapult 1

save!

How to operate the plane? I made a small mission in FMB with one single Seiran taking off from a I400 to try everything out. (Will also try it out with torpedo under the belly)
Start engine - unfold wings - flaps settings to take off and next... full power for about four seconds. Toggle chockes ONCE and...
off you go. Be carefull though... the plane really goes up steeply. As I fly with the highest IL-2 difficulty settings possible, bad steering can turn into accidents. Keeping a little bit of forward pressure on the control stick does it.
But what matters is... it works! Great show! Thanks for these Mods Ten0!

Greetings,

Jenato

:D Even taking off loaded with torpedo works fine!
What I forgot to tell for those who also want to try it out: don't forget to set the speed of the sub considerably high. 24 mph, for instance, will slightly help the plane to take off a little bit easier. In fact this is the same procedure used with carrier take offs. Ships bow into the wind, rev up the knots and up they go!  ;)

Mark, i suspect it might not work in QMB because i think QMB needs to see a carrier to use for takeoff, and it might not be recognising this as a carrier?

I created a simple mission in QMB. Some errors will remain in the log, but I will operation. The explosion known issues and trying to appear airplane one machine or more of the submarine. I want to give three aircraft as historical fact, but the appearance position seems to overlap.
Try the mission.

For those interested in such matters, there is a fascinating book about the I-400 class and the Seiran:
"Operation Storm" by John J. Geoghegan.
