I changed my game at 4.09m, and I don't know where to put this mod?
I created Mods folder and put Your mod in it but it does not working.

any way u could post what aircraft smoke effect correspond to what files? on my monitor the fw-190 "afterburner" don't look quite right

I'm trying to isolate that which will suppress the awful yellow illumination on aircraft bodies when firing guns. Is this mod present here, and if so, what do I grab?

I'd like to see if it will work in 4.08. I already have tons of tweaked effects that took a good many hours of my time, and would prefer to keep them.

If only there existed a database specifying what every classfile addresses, and any dependencies...

That seems to be the way, but with 4.08 I don't have even an SM79 to test that mod with. As you know, it's a classfile, but seems to apply just to the one plane. Does this mean every single plane requires its own dedicated classfile to eradicate this baleful glow? That would seem to be an inefficient design, where one would expect at most one classfile per gun type.

At any rate, I added the 12mmGunShells.eff files (not in 4.08, I'm reasonably certain) which caused the hang-up when I installed the MGun classfile folder (of which one is the very one for the SM79 in that dedicated mod you just pointed to.) Now I can load tracks for testing. But... the sickly yellow pall remains, unfortunately. A limit that I cannot surmount in 4.08, perhaps?

I hope Steppenwolf wades in. Again I thank you *very* much for your speedy and considerate attention!

i am sure that there was a post by SAS~Cirx, from quite some time ago, where he explains the process for curing this flash effect.
i'll keep looking for it, meanwhile hopefully someone else can jump in to assist.

To modify existing effects one needs merely a basic text editor (like Notepad), and image editing software which handles .tga files (and ideally alpha channels too.) Just tweaking the text files (*.eff) is a potent start, which was all I did for my first year or so, until installing Photoshop (an older release made available for free by Adobe).

To *create* new effects is a whole other matter, which I gather requires to delve into Java programming and /or classfiles. A dark art for the qualified paracticioner, methinks... ;)

Does anyone knows how to fix following bug:
When I shoot at enemy aircraft and I torn off its one wing, that plane starting to fall Down
not in spins but it sometimes goes Down like left-right, right-left.
It's a wery anoying bug!
Is there a fix for that somewhere??
