Hawk-75 - P-36 (from 4.12) - v1.2m
« on: June 20, 2013, 08:58:17 AM »

Whenever DT distributes a patch is with great pleasure and a great respect that I put my claws in their work.
With the advent of this new patch I enthusiastically thank all the modders who contributed to this patch 4.12!
Thank you, thank you very much !

For Rebels 409 !
Hawk-75A-3 / Hawk-75A-4 / P-36A-3 / P-36A-4

- new weapons included !
- version flyable for all
- fix skins for P-36A-4 (the output of the engine exhausts - it is "approximate" because I'm not skinner !)
- P-36A-3 and A-4 replace existing aircraft in your game !

version 1.2m
- new shadows :
     - CF
     - Engine
     - Tail
     - WingOut L & R
     - Wire
     - prop + propD + proprot
- resize wheels

version 1.11m
- new Wheels by PA_Jeronimo
- fix engines & prop by PA_Jeronimo
- add Ground Automatic Canopy Opening
- Class call FMD/EMD in new buttons (minimum SAS 9.7j / UV2 8.7o / UV3 1.0j) (*)

Link : https://www.mediafire.com/?kpl66csrepeok3e

(*)
Why change the call of FMD/EMD to buttons instead of the external FM?

Some FMD/EMD are used by several aircraft. When you make a change to the FMD/EMD in buttons, all planes involved are immediately changed.
If FMD/EMD are scattered in several external FM ... you may forget to make some changes!

- new Wheels by Pa_Jeronimo

Bons vols !

- Cockpit Finland by TT and Tyrl

I currently have only 4.12 install working so i can't test it but is seems you have used my two years old mod instead of brand new DT cockpit. Why? I't is just a cosmetic fraud for P-40B cockpit, it's totally unhistorical. There is also a special cockpit for finland in 4.12 and it's historically correct. It only has some texts differing from others.  :)

Well looking the cockpit folder it should be accurate now, there's only one cockpit folder with correct new 4.12 files. I'm trying to get my 4.11 install working to test these. But remove that "cockpits by TT", i have nothing to do with them, they are 100% done by DAIDALOS TEAM. Btw, this current cockpit is actually accurate just for finland and germany, because of the revi gunsight. Other versions will be released with 4.13, cicero posted a picture with french gunsight WIP in the lounge 4.12 thread.

Nice mod and due credit to those involved, but isn't the config data incorrect? The Curtiss P36 was for the home amercian market and should not be dubbed Mohawk, which was the British name for the export version, the Hawk 75, whose MkI, II, III, and IV correspnded to the 75A-1, 75A-2, 75A-3, and 75A-4 models obtained from redirected french orders. To further compound the error, the P36A and the Hawk 75 export models are not directly comparable, as the Hawk 75A-3/Mohawk III is closer to the P36C, and the Hawk75A-4/Mohawk IV closer to the P36G (Information from Enzo Angelucci, Peter Bowers, William Green)

In the readme file the plane_ru.properties info is stated as

Hawk-75A-3             Hawk-75A-3, 1940
Hawk-75A-4             Hawk-75A-4, 1940
P-36A-3              P-36A-3, 1938
P-36A-4              Mohawk IV, 1941

Shouldn't this be more accurately stated as

Hawk-75A-3             Curtiss 75A Mohawk III, 1940
Hawk-75A-4             Curtiss 75A Mohawk IV, 1940
P-36A-3              Curtiss P-36A-3, 1938
P-36A-4              Curtiss P-36A-4, 1941
