The F-100 didn't have a long range radar, since it had the open intake, so Im pretty sure it could not have carried a Sparrow. I think any mods of it would most likely involve cluster munitions and later versoins of bombs. I don't know if they could find the room internally to mount the Maverick equipment, and I dunno if they would use an external pod for the reasons cited. But that doesn't mean they could not.

By the time the Maverick became prominent, the F-100s had been regulated mostly to reserves and ANG (I remember around 1970 the Ga. ANG replacing its C-124s with F-100s in Nam camo).

I know the ROC and Turkey used the F-100 into the 70s and were probably the longest users of it. I'd check any sites on the Taiwan and Turkish AFs to see if they made any significant mods.

The Chinese F-6 was modernized a great deal, with an American ejection seat, could carry AIM-9Js, and some other improvements I cant remember. Pakistan may have made mods also. You may want to research that as well.

Hi,

Note that the F-100s are being actively working on so the files you're using now for your mod might be obsoleted. I would suggest that you wait for the new mod to be released then you can work from there with the new files.

Additionally, it is highly recommended that you contact the original author of the mods that you want to modify first. Because they might be working on it or have a more advance version that have not been released or they simply doesn't want you to touch their work. I'm not stopping you from doing anything, just that a PM or two would be necessary to avoid conflict.

Cheers,

S3

P/S: I've modified the original MiG-19S model to make a Chinese ground attack aircraft Nanchang Q-5 (which was also derived from the MiG-19). Currently I don't have much time so this is way down the list for me. I can send the max file over if you want to make it.

i agree with S-3, there is a major rework of the F100 in progress, offering a massively reworked loadout option.
any work you do on it now will be made redundant with the new release.
do yourself a favor, and rather wait for that to be released first, otherwise all this work of yours will have been in vain.

OMG Fantan. Here comes the target opponent for F-18. Imagine swarms of these charging towards your carrier while you're sitting on catapult...

Wow S3, that Q-5 is great. I've always been fascinated wiht that plane. It would make a great addition to the jetwar stuff. Nice work. And thanks, I hope you pursue this if you have time.

End of All Fears

You know when the Russians did a retalatory strike against a US carrier but not with mig-19's

Sum of all fears.  8)

i think they used Tu-26s If I remember correctly. None of the F-14s launched and there were apparently E-2Cs, and hell, there weren't even any escort ships. Sort of like the current situation the navy is in now.
