All good here:  However, C.U.P. flyers will need to apply this small Kingfisher classfile update.  This may also help to solve the issue for non-CUP rated flyers (poor things). Just take the folder out of #WAW and place into your mod folder - Rename it so that it is at the top of your load order or take the classfiles and FM and put them into folder 00!-KF.

actually I never got the v1.7 Kingfisher to actually work off the Iowa as it should theoretically;
...in a nutshell, only the zipcomic modded Kingfisher worked as advertised, which is also ok for me, but the 3d from v1.7 would be nicer;
its a shame one cannot have both....

The new 3D is great and also works fine with the above fix.  Just leave the classfiles alone.

Also; remember that the superior 412 FMB allows us to place a seaplane start anywhere.  So it is a simple matter to lower your seaplane over the side of ANY ship.  The cat would not always be used...

Strictly speaking; I was wrong to say that any CUP Seaplane could be directly cat-launched off the Iowa Class vessels:  Just these ones...

Monty,

I assume you've put this fix in CUP Part 20, since I can FINALLY launch the Kingfisher.  ;D  Thanks!

Now about that...    :-X

On CUP Part 20,
The Kingfisher now has a 20mm cannon instead of the .30cal gun.

I can now blow zeros into oblivion in seconds!!!!!   IN A KINGFISHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!    ;D

However, this is not realistic. There is no record of a 20mm being mounted to a Kingfisher that I know of, and there is not enough space in the engine to fit the gun or ammunition anyways.  :(   There is no longer an option to use the .30cal at all, and the 20mm cannon is listed as default (fieldmod).
I'm not sure if this is from Mikoyan's Kingfisher 1.7 patch or CUP Part 20. It's fun to have the power of the 20mm, but I would at least like to have the option to use the .30cal just for realism. If this could be fixed, it would be much appreciated!

I think your message is very misplaced!
You have this problem in your CUP?
Then posted this request in the forums to CUP!

I have, but I also posted it here because the problem is most likely with THIS mod, not CUP.  :)  I would assume that CUP doesn't alter the Kingfisher mod, only includes the 1.7 version in it's new part 20.

Hmmm... Mikoyan, if you are reading this, could you shed some light on the subject?  :-| Or whoever made this 1.7 patch?  :)

I have no recollection of adding a 20mm cannon to the mod.

I think it came with Zip_Comic1 'Field Mod' version when upgrading to 4.12 (in C.U.P.). I don't know how it could happen, by the way, as I thought the only changes were related to the rear gunner only...

So, that could be it... I don't understand how to could happen either though.  :-|  So this would probably be an issue with something added in CUP, not the Kingfisher 1.7 mod. I apologize if I sounded like I was blaming you Mikoyan. The cannon is cool though!  ;D I just want it to be realistic. ;)

I shall work on sorting this out in the CUP section...
