D3A - Bombs Release Gear
« on: August 02, 2013, 03:38:23 AM »

D3A - Bomb Release Gear

- For airplanes D3A1 & D3A2 !
- Fix 3D by Loku (06-2011) included
- Fix cowling & engines D3A by PA-Jeronimo partially included.

D3A1
- After dropping the bomb ventral you should click twice on the button to drop bombs to release the bombs beneath the wings.
- Bombsight by DT(4.12) included
- Mod D3A1 v1.1 (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,35422.0.html) highly advisable ! You can add the contents of this Mod in the folder of the Mod D3A1 v1.1.
- You lose partially the benefits of Mod fix Engines & Prop by PA_Jeronimo. Only propellers are retained. (1)

D3A2
- After dropping the bomb ventral you should click twice on the button to drop bombs to release the bombs beneath the wings.
- For 409 users, Mod D3A2 v1.1 needed (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,35422.0.html) !  You can add the contents of this Mod in the folder of the Mod D3A2 v1.1.
- For bombsight by DT(4.12), the mod D3A1 v1.1 or D3A1_BombReleaseGear needed !
- You lose partially the benefits of Mod fix Engines & Prop by PA_Jeronimo. Only propellers are retained. (1)

(1) The reason is simple: I do not know how to open a mesh_text file in 3dsMax-2010!

A little problem at least for me:

D3A1: all ok  :)
D3A2: 250kg bomb invisible when selected in qmb, and text not correct  :(

Cheers.

The bomb release gear looks very nice, Epervier! Thank you!  :)

But why replace PA_Jeronimo's beautiful smooth cowling & 3d engine with the stock low poly cowling & 2d engine?   :-\

Edit:

I only saw your footnote now...

The reason is simple: I do not know how to open a mesh_text file in 3dsMax-2010!

I have been able to replace the stock engine & cowling files included in this mod with PA_Jeronimo's new cowling & 3d engine.
It seems to work fine this way. I now have your nice bomb release gear and PA_Jeronimo's cowling & 3d engine together!    :)

Maybe it's not necessary to include the stock cowling & engine files in this mod? That way they won't clash with PA_Jeronimo's files?

If you take the time to check your plane... maybe you'll see why I'm writing this!
"- Fix cowling & engines D3A by PA-Jeronimo partially included.
- You lose partially the benefits of Mod fix Engines & Prop by PA_Jeronimo. Only propellers are retained."

Maybe! But I have my doubts.
But you are free to ransack my work by adding mesh Engines contained in Mod Jeronimo.
Although these have a mesh rods cradle that will not budge.

text is correct by changing
'D3A2.1x250_2x30   1x 250kg + 2x 30kg Bombs'
with
 'D3A2.1x2502x30                          1x 250kg + 2x 30kg Bombs'
 in the weapons_ru.

But the 250kg bomb still not visible...
3D problem or it's just in my 4.09 install ?

Best regards.

this is great, thanks Epervier!  :)
I am feeling that you want to reuse in D4Y series.

Did you install the D3A2 in your 409 ?
Did you copy the contents of this mod in the Mod D3A2 accepting overwriting files?
Did you think to look at your log?

Why?
In the "normal" Mod the bomb 250kg hangs from a hook placed on the CF mesh.
In this Mod ventral bomb clings to hook placed on the mesh of the cradle (Armx).
If you do not see the bomb causes can be varied:
- You put the Mod D3A2 before this mod
- You have mixed in the wrong order these 2 Mods (D3A2 and BRG)
- You have a mod that changes the CF of the aircraft and it is placed before the Mod BRG
- ... I continue?

OK, I have found what was wrong: the hier.him was not disabled in PA_Jeronimo 's engine and cowl fix !  :o
All is correct now.

Shame on me...  :-[

Cheers.

[10:11:33]   Hook: _ExternalBomb01 not found
[10:11:33]   com.maddox.il2.engine.ActorException: Hook: _ExternalBomb01 not found
That is exactly what I wrote.
But only you are able to say why there is this error.
For me ... you do not properly install this mod or another Mod disturb this mod.

[Edit] grilled ! but... "For me ... you do not properly install this mod or another Mod disturb this mod."
