Not bad! Nice perspective too. My advice is to shade in the direction that the shape goes, if you understand me? This helps to make the shading look realistic. I love drawing in pencil and charcoal. IMHO you can achieve a picture that looks just as realistic as a painting with pencil, and if you're good enough, even better ;)
Here's an example of a piece I did as part of my GCSE Art course last year:
It's not aviation, I know, but may interest some ;) Looking back, I can see a load of stuff I'd love to have changed, but I got 100% overall in my Art GCSE, so I may just leave it as it is ;)



EDIT-the pictures of horrible sizes. can I make them smaller within photobucket?

Yes, Photobucket has a few editing options. In Photobucket point the cursor on the image select 'EDIT' and you can crop, resize, rotate etc.
