Might i inquire as to whether this is different to patching officially via mission4today or is this a SAS Patch that only VP modpack can handle?
is it different to the official patches?

SAS version best version.

Jokes aside, All this does is get you from whatever game version you are below 4.12.2 (maybe 4.10.1 for eg) up to 4.12.2. It's all stock anyways as it is. No mods or anything IIRC.

 The reason i asked was because my vp modpack wont run properly, ie when applying the official patched game versus the SAS Megapatch. For some reason the splash screen loads up, but it crashes to IL2 Selector immediately after that.

Does the Vp modpack need the SAS modact installed individually after the patch (before the modpack)? i thought the pack was standalone with 4.12.2m.

And just for confirmation, installing VP modpack is: extract all parts to a new folder, then drag and drop and overwrite into the 4.12.2m installation?


i know its a stupid place to post help, but i saw how fast your response was and hoped to garner some fixes.

oke guys let me begin,

in the far past i played il2 1946 also the modded version Patch 9.04m i believe .
Now i want to play il2 1946 again and want to mod it because i want to fly dutch vintage aircraft like the fokker D.XXI ,G.1 ,C.X etc and early versions of the Spitfire mk 1 .
6 years ago modding was not a problem . but now im older and i havent any clue how to begin with simple modding again.

If you already have 4.12.2 you don't need to install this.

Compressed in 7zip, 5gb result 35.7GB without Mapsmods! you just have to INSTALL IL-2 Mod ativ 5.30 4.12.2 working OK.

This is exactly what I did : Installing  a clean installation: "4.07m (Original IL-2 1946 DVD release version)"! I own my original DVD.
I apply the recommended Mega patch:
During this application, the extraction process stopped and I got the following error message :
"CRC failed in PaintSchemes\Skins\CW-21\CW-21 Chinese Camo - Generic.bmp
The file "???" header is corrupt."
I looked up in all the folders on my dvd, and could not find this file. The folder CW-21 is empty.
Where can I get this CW-21 folder ?
