I have to agree with Boyan, definately one of the most beautiful aircraft ever built, superb work Master Ranwers. 8)

I was only ever up close to some of these aircraft once, they came ashore at a very rare air display held at RAF Boscombe down many years ago, I have never been so captivated by any other aircraft as I was with those, to see them fly that day was just an experience no one could forget. ;)

I forget where the flat top was anchored, possibly Portsmouth, we travelled for what seemed hours just to get a look at it, the shear size just took your breath away.

Happy days are coming for Il-2s fast jet jocks. :)

USS Enterprise, I was in VA-94 on there from 85 to 89, the first work up deployments we made they filmed Top Gun for about 3 weeks.  Some of the guys from my shop were in that final scene where they all land and grab ass each other over their victory...................  corny I know..............

Remember there are two versions of the Enterprise, Sci fi Island and rebuilt Island, might as well make the USS Long Beach and USS Bainbridge to go along with it.
