Yea, probably a "Kitty Hawk" class. I served on the USS America in '66 - '67. We had the A-6.

The problem is, we don't have Kitty Hawk class carriers. The closest we can get is the USS BHR, unless someone decides to do the Kitty Hawk :-X

Not only Kitty Hawk class, ALL of post WWII Super Carriers of US Navy operated Intruders --- Forrestal class and Enterprise (CVN-65) , Nimitz class (A-6s are ~CVN-73, EA-6B is all to CVN-77).

And 3x Midway class , too.

In any event, none of them we've got in IL-2 1946 yet.
More ship builders are needed.

Well, if we can operate the F/A-18 & F-4 from the BHR, we can use the A-6 as well.

Well, then we would need the catapults to be done differently - afaik, so far the launching speed/power is constant. It should instead load some value from planes FM and use that - as different planes use different setting of catapult. (I'm just playing clever - saw a 1970's RN documentary on carriers.)

No.
SAS Engine MOD 2.7 for 4.12.2m has variable pushing catapult power due to aircraft's weight (containing bombs and fuel) about Jets from its first release version.
In example for same aircraft "F-4J PhanmtomII", heavy bombs loadout with full fuel droptanks is given much more catapult power than light weight anti-air missiles loadout.
Each loadouts may be given similar acceleration (even not strictly same).

Wow, great, didn't know that... thanks for intel. o.O

However, the thing is that various planes need different speed. In Vietnam for example - you would have Skyriders and Phantoms taking off from the same carrier - and they used various speeds... At least that's what I meant...

Your question is also a half implemented.

Here is Catapults.ini entry sample.
Code: [Select]
[USSHornetCV12_1970]
dCatapultOffsetX 6.9
dCatapultOffsetY -41
dCatapultYaw -1.6
dCatapultOffsetX2 24.1
dCatapultOffsetY2 -44
dCatapultYaw2 -1.6
catapultPower   22
catapultPowerJets  35
bSteamCatapult 1
The values of catapultPower and catapultPowerJets mean Base pushing power for Props and Jets.
Props like Skyraider are given 22 + weight calculation addition power , and Jets like F-4 / A-6 are given 35 + weight calculation addition power.

When you feel "Props are given too big power", you can decrease the value into 20 or 18 as you like.

Nowadays I'm trying to remodel and re-position ordnances making easy to attach aircrafts.
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,49681.0.html

The first aircraft implemented that "Generation2016" weapons will be A-6 Intruder.

I have to do both tasks ordnance side and A-6 side, it needs much time.

Here are today's progress.

Very nice to see that the intruder is being worked on. Cannot wait to see it.
