Improved Spinning Propellers

Improved Spinning Propellers by The_WOZ

This mod gives spinning propellers some degree of 'volume' when viewed edge on, instead of the flat look of the stock propellers.
At the same time it doesn't generate any flickering/strobe effect at all when viewing it from inside the cockpit.

Current release is V0.41 and includes new propellers for about 123 of the stock planes:

  • All stock A6M
  • All stock Bf-109
  • All stock Bf-110
  • D3A1 (With metallic glare new v0.41)
  • All stock Fw-190
  • Fiat G-50
  • Gladiator J8A/Mk.I
  • Hawk81A-2
  • Hs-129B-2 and B-3Wa
  • All stock Hurricanes
  • All stock I-153 (spinning prop now includes the propeller balance weights, and glare)
  • All stock Ju-87
  • All stock Ju-88
  • All stock Ki-61
  • All stock LaGG-3 (minus the jet one ;))
  • Mustang Mk.III
  • Pzl P.11c
  • All stock P-38
  • P-40B
  • P-40C
  • P-47D-10 and D-22
  • All stock P-51
  • P-63
  • Tomahawk Mk.IIa and IIb

New in v0.41:
  • Avia B-534
  • All stock Brewster Buffalos

  • All stock MC-200

  • P-47D and P-47D-27
  • TB-7 M-40F and Pe-8

  • TBD-1
  • Tempest Mk.V

Old versions:
v0.26: Improved_props_v0.26.zip

Installation
Simply unpack the zip file into your #SAS folder

Compatibility
This mod doesn't contain any java class and should be compatible with most if not all game versions.
Included Zero propellers are most probably incompatible with JapanCat's Zeroes
It has only been tested with SAS ModAct, but there should be no problem with other modded instalations such as HSFX, UP, etc

Version number and future
The version number indicates the amount of stock propeller driven aircraft already complete, thus the first release (v0.26) only have just above a quarter of all the planes completed
Once v1.0 is reached, next step is working in integration with PA_Geronimo's Fix Engines Cowlings and Props

WOW, thank you the_woz! This is such a must have mod! that flat propeller profile was one of those eye hurting little details that always got my attention. This should be in the official next update IMHO!
