Sorry, but that's a negative on BAT. Adding this breaks everything again, including the gunships and other tankers.

Guys, why are you delivering all the classes again that have nothing to do with tankers? Just cutting out the two new KC slot classes alone does the trick. Now they are tanking.

But all the other classes in this fix? Not compatible with BAT (most likely the weapons classes and the typetanker here)

Hello Andy, as I already mentioned this is still developing and has of yet not been tested in BAT by us, it only just about works in our ModAct install as of last night. ;)

The pack has been built on top of the old one to try and rectify issues with the stationary planes as folks want them with wheels on, that we now think is something to do with setting of the gear so we used the old pack java as a temporary solution and built from there.

We have also had many a CTD, there are quite a few old mods using our original KC mother class and so it has been recommended to all that they download that set Alex provided a link for, what we have now seems to be more or less without need of the old original pack but we found other things that still need the old classes in some installs hence his link. When tried in my test install it is able to stand alone except for the usual recommended dependencies but it can cause issues where other older stuff is in the same pack, nothing much I can do about that, as I keep mentioning I am no java specialist and some of the files I am having to keep inside of eclipse to allow me to hash them, the TypeTankerDrogue is one of the files the java keeps asking for so for the moment it has to remain, nothing more I can do about it right now.  Much of yesterday was spent trying to redo what had already been seen to fail for the tankers, now at least it works for us, anything else is a bonus.

Philippo and Western most likely have a whole pack of dependencies for their work included within their java program that I do have, nor do I know just where to find them or how they do things so I have to continually tinker until I have some kind of success. In most instances I go with what eclipse suggests or I try and find those old files somewhere, usually both ways eventually find a solution.

I retired from this once and do this purely to give Alex a hand getting his amazing ideas into the sim but my java is trial and error unfortunately and until I get a chance to actually learn java properly which due to age and illness is not a likely eventuality that is how it is, as I keep saying I am not bestowed with your undoubted talent so pick away as best I can.

If it never actually gets fixed to BAT standards I really honestly do not care, take it or leave it, we do not make it for BAT, most stuff in BAT has been altered to such a point from what most of us have made originally that I would not know where to start to make it compatible, nor do I care anymore.

We try and fix one problem at a time, right now I have to leave this for other things but will eventually come back to to try and repair other outstanding problems.

I understand! I was just wondering about the systematic approach here.
It is working in BAT now, but there is a lot of java that must be left out.

Hi Vampire_pilot, I am playing BAT4.2.1 what are the 2 classes you are talking about ?  Do I have to copy them in the #JTW/C130-Family folder, replacing the original ones ?

You best wait for the next BAT update, which will contain this. It was a lot of sorting and deleting already for me to get it to work.

Hello guys, I have opened up the front gear doors and sent that with my java to Alex:









The rear gear will have to stay as is, I ran out of patience and time so for the moment this is as good as it gets
from me at least for now.

Alex can update the thread if he is happy with the latest bit as he has the changes and the java files I used so
if he puts those up you have what we have so far and you can tinker yourselves maybe adding some of the 3d
bits I updated into the other versions already available elsewhere. ;)

Just to make sure I understand this behavior right.

The "AI" loadout on the AC-130, what's the expected behavior at a GAttack waypoint?

For me it opens the bay and drops flares.
It does not shoot with the sideways guns - because AI never could do that. Is this still correct behavior?


For the the sake of argument, when I am the pilot, the AI loadout guns also do not shoot.
They do not target aircraft or ground targets. I suppose that is what I should expect?

Hello Andy, the AI only drops the flares yes, I have not noticed the miniguns fire except by you as a pilot. I cannot remember what happened with the AC-47 that is where the armament came from, I think, armament was to be the next thing I look at but not right now.
I am not sure what would make the miniguns target automatically a ground target, could the AC-130 be set as a sturmovik?  Would that work?
I did try to add further options to the minigun at one stage to maybe include the cannon which is a turret I think but for some reason the load out would not accept changes for me, out of practice or something locking that load out who knows, I thought maybe a stick of paras to start a mission with the mini guns as back up. The vega/Western version has a multitude of loadouts but I have not tried them yet on what we have as it was mainly about providing slots and showing ideas first of all trying to get it working with all weapons and rotating radar etc. might be for someone else with better java ability so my files are there for someone to tinker and develop further just in case we do not get back to it
The whole project is still in progress and neither of us know if or when we will pick it up again so in many ways the special ops versions are just eye candy as far as the AI goes and limited to flares and miniguns for a piloted machine at the moment.

No, you need java code for that. Look at the Huey Helicopter door gunners as examples. They do what you want, target ground targets.

You can not teach an AI pilot to "make passes" for AI gunnery though. You'd have to figure that out with mission building.
