Doc
I think your getting your wires crossed mate, the JU-88 G1 was a nightfighter so would not have carried bombs or rockets, it was basically the JU-88 G6 we have from Sputnikshock but with BMW rather than Jumo engines.

No wires crossed mate ! As I wrote (if You reade my post) they had of course NO bombs, Torpedos or rockets !
But one JU-88G1
2N+BL of
3/ZG1 was lost on
7. January 1944 north of Caen. Crew Strobel, Schneider, Dressler. Together with JU-88R2 !!!
At least one whole staffel of KG.40 used Ju-88R2 Destroyers. I found text and Pics about the JU-88R2 in "Bloody Biscaya and "Die deutsche Luftwaffe, Zerstörer und Nachtjagdverbände Band II und III, Michael Meyer + Paul Stipdonk, VDM-Verlag. Thats only for the guys who Thing the Ju-88R was only used as Nightfighter too ?

These were the first evidence I found that these Versions were in day-use too. The explication is that the Luftwaffe looked after a solution against the Beaufighters and the Mosquitos over the Bay.
I prefer to find my Infos in extracts of official documents (p.ex. loss lists) and not on the Internet
Cheers

BTW. Initially the Ju-88G1 had Bomb-attaching-points too but the need for Nightfighters was higher !
