Hello guys, the information Dreamk kindly supplied indicates the following regarding the centre line rack:
The two (in tandem) center-line bomb racks were for BE 33 flares (one each for each bomb rack) and were poitioned between the under fuselage gun gondolas
There is no indication it was used for the main armament which appears to be 110lb (50kg) bombs.
However there are operational reports that 63.11 series aircraft were indeed equipped with one 50kg bomb under each outer wing section.
Unfortunately I do not know at the moment if it is possible to actually add racks where the above mentions, besides, the 63.11 I believe is a different version from what we produced.
I could actually just use the Ki-45 pylons and hang two bombs on with a equivalent weight to the total bomb load carried by the Potez 633, something I did with the MB-174, however, that was considered incorrect for the MB and so would I am sure be so for most in this instance, dammed if we do, dammed if we do not.
Dropping the bomb load from the current position seemed the best compromise in my mind.
I did actually look at making a bomb bay:
These are actually two of the bombspawns for the above, the lower and higher at each corner:
The current bombs drop from the bombspawn of the original racks which were moved in and up to give the current location, not
the best way of doing it I concede.
You will appreciate that creating the bay and the runners as well as removing the doors and making ones that opened would have been a rather time consuming process, ask yourself, would you do it?
I have tried all the aircraft in my old UP 2, sadly for some reason I just got a blank in the arming screen for the weapons, the aircraft showed ok though, however, if I went to fly I got a error message indicating something was wrong with the armament.
I had used what appears to be stock weapons in these aircraft, but for some reason UP 2 did not like it.
I only recently fired up my UP 2 and was faced with a CTD, admittedly it has been some years since I played it, that I sorted. Thing is I am so out of touch with what makes that install tick so I leave those things to Master Epervier.
Anyway, real life issues mean I probably will not be doing much if anything in the sim for a while so any alterations to this and the MB-174 may have to come from somebody else.
Wishing you all the very best, Pete.
