pre-DBW2 (DBW for 4.12.2) - Bugs and Collaboration

This thread is to report bugs found. The pre-DBW2 will be a real DBW2 with everything correct only if we collaborate all together

So please, I suggest using this thread this way:

-Report in a single post any bug, issue, abnormality you see. Headed by ISSUE: description of the problem
-If you have several different things found, please create as many posts as problems, so they can be followed up one by one as single subjects
-It would be good to use this same thread for fixes anybody found to particular issues. So whenever you find a fix, please do this, post it saying FIX TO ISSUE: description of the original problem and inside the post, please put a reference to the post where it was notified.

If we collaborate together we will be able to have a solid, very coherent and clean pack.

Regards,
                         Pablo

ISSUE: problems with textures on German Opel Blitz trucks
« Reply #3 on: August 29, 2014, 11:24:00 AM »

In PreDBW2-Pure profile there are some problems with textures on German Opel Blitz trucks (picture below).
In HSXF7-Pure profile German Opel Blitz trucks are displayed properly, so it must be a conflict between HSFX & DBW mods, I suppose...
EDIT: After closer look it seems to me, that there is confusion: 3D models are taken from DBW 1.71 (this Blitz model is better than one from HSFX), but texture is from HSFX (and unfortunately it doesn't fit 3D model).
If so, we should only change textures and use again these from DBW 1.71.
Any ideas how to do it?
Question: A key to fix this issue is to prevent HSFX skins for these objects from loading. So, how to eliminate these skins from sfs.file?

Greetings,

loaded ... works well DBW-2, DBW-1.71, UP-3.0RC, HSFX-7.02, MA-5.30, loaded and running a few extra mods, but HD modes and modes PRO_Combo not work, even though the profile is active

These 2 mods actually add/change files outside of #SAS# folder, for these files you still need to use JSGME.
In other words to make QMBPro work with your profile you need the "Missions\QuickQMBPro" folder applied to your installation.

Leopard,
I have taken a long time writting the turorial that you can access through Help -> ReadMe, and the ones which are available in TotalMODder V3 thread. I think that it is quite clear what is depicted here in relation to your post:

This is depicted as a binary folder, not a real folder, because it is a pack, but again: by Drag and Drop I add it to my Profile.
Order is important and controllable in TotalMODder: so I'm loading this over the pre-DBW2 pack and the Game v4.12.2 classes.

All the Activators and what I packed in the EasyPack ara BASE contents. So where do you place things over a base? On top of it!!! Everything has to go ON TOP of the Activators (Base Packs).

FIX TO ISSUE: problems with textures on German Opel Blitz trucks
« Reply #10 on: September 06, 2014, 11:35:48 AM »

You need to extract all files from fb_hfx3do15.sfs file.
Then you should delete following folders in 3do/Cars:

OpelBlitz6700A_summer
OpelBlitz6700A_MEDIC_summer
OpelBlitz6700A_RADIO

At last you need repack modified fb_hfx3do15.sfs file (it means without above deleted folders), and replace original with this modified file.

And here they are:

EDIT: Ooops, there is a side effect of removing hsfx skins from sfs file. Some other vehicles don't display, it's strange because I haven't removed any other elements (only tga skins for Opel Blitz). I suppose it is effect of improperly repacked sfs file (after repacking a internal structure was changed?). I'll try to rework it...

Good Is. I haven't seen before the questions you introduced in your previous post. If you are on the subject, I would suggest a method for you. The TotalMODder has the option of extracting files. So do this:

1-In TM3 set in Tools->MODding Options "Dump File on Load to 'Extracted' (or whatever Folder)".
2-Confirm that your 'Extracted' folder is empty.
3-Run the game without the fb_hfx3do15.sfs (by placing a # before the load in HSFX7.rc).
4-Make the game load those vehicles (their contents will appear in the 'Extracted' folder).
5-Compare what is different with the ones you extracted from the HSFX7 file, please made a .rar with it, upload the differences somewhere and I will add it to the fixes properly crediting you.
6-Uncheck the Extract Contents option in TotalMODder.

You will see that it is not much more than 5 minutes.

Thanks. Regards, Pablo
