Currently I have IL2:1946 4.07m updated to DBW 1.71 and the game version reads 4.101...and that's my install.

So what now?

Okay, progress.

My clean install of 4.07m + DBW 1.71 (using Superpack), now have me with the Lancaster working....in the DBW 1.71 setup.

So now, to make sure I don't break anything....what is the safest way to add the updated version to DBW?

MysticPuma, unpack this mod into your fresh DBW, to be more precise into
the folder "your_DBWs_name/#DBW", its the best you can get as this mod brings all the 3d fixes to DBWs default Lancaster:

Okay, I'll try it in about an hour.

So download the mediafire file. Extract into my #DBE# folder. No need to change any lines in planes/air/weapons.ini as they already exist and no need to change any buttons?

Is there a way I can tell it worked, I.e is there a noticeable difference in a vanilla dbw Lancaster to the latest version that I can examine to see if it is the latest version and working?

once you installed the Lanc's version I linked above start a (QMB )mission
and have a look. See the way better 3d, the turrets, the wheels etc.

Then diable the lanc's mod folder (put a minus sign in front
of the mods name) and run the same mission again,
and see the difference.
