Mod Bay of Biscay Map revisited
« on: November 20, 2014, 06:07:34 AM »

If you have already my mod : MOD "Can_English_channel_40_41 and 42_45 revisited and finished"
installed on your IL-2 game you are OK :

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,43135.0.html

If not, please install it because you absolutely need the modified Can_airfields.

If you have already the Bay of Biscay map in your game you don't need to put
new entries in the "all.ini" of your #SAS-DBW.../MapMods/Maps folder or Files/maps folder...

If not, please add the line : agcz_Biscay agcz_Biscay/load.ini

To complete the installation backup your old folder in
your #SAS-DBW.../MapMods/Maps folder or Files/maps folder...  : "agcz_Biscay"
and put the one contained in the download in place of it.

You can overwrite the "_Tex" folder.

Now you are able to fly in a new environment !

-All the airfields are redone.
-I have changed some textures.
-I have added some hight and some relief to the central part of the Brittany in order to
simulate the "Monts d'Arrée" and to have less monotonous area in this part of the map.
-Take off and landing points are strictly the original one. So the existing campaigns should work
 on this map.

Many thanks to: RAF 310/311 czechoslovak virtual squadron and Agracier
which are responsible for the creation of this very nice and very interesting map on the historical level.

Have fun, Thierry_B.

HOT FIX :
Download link : https://www.mediafire.com/download/ma95a45d9slgpjs/Correctif_Map_agcz_Biscay-T_Bauchot.7z
1:
deleting of my airfields templates that floated on the water surface area in the area of :
RAF Predannack and south of the town of Falmouth.
2:
reorganization of taxi and stay waypoints on the RAF Warmwell airfield :
Now the landing aircraft are able to find their way and don't disappear any more.

Please have a look at : reply #16

And now, better than my bad English, some pictures of the reworked map :

Merci men tio mi chui d'la veu

Beaucoup de personnes y sont allées de bon coeur sur cette map, il faudrait presque tout mixers.

Many people have gone there willingly on this map, it would take almost any mixers

Yes, I agree. There would be many small details to be reviewed. This remark is also valid for all the maps. But the work would be quite gigantic to realize. So in the meantime we must satisfy us of good compromise...
For a player who does not know the region it is enough !  :)
For a player who knows well the region  this lack of detail would be disappointing !  :(

But the road is open and users are free to continue work on the maps of their choice.
Everything that can be brought to the IL-2 community is always good to take !  ;)

In fact, I have reworked this map  to make it compatible with my mod "Can English Channel."
In order to rework this first map I had to change the "Cannon airfields".
So I also had to rework the Bay of Biscay map by redoing its airfields that are the same than those used by the map Can English Channel.
As well all the maps using the "Cannon airfields" are revised and corrected.
And I repeat, this is not a perfect job, but just a visually pleasing compromise for the pilot...

Best regards, Thierry.

Absolutely brilliant.  This has always been one of my favourite maps in modded Il2.  Thanks for doing such a great job up-grading the airfields and the topography too.  ;D
