Anyone using the Saitek Rhino X55?
« on: November 28, 2014, 03:49:15 PM »

I am currently looking at this new HOTAS setup for general use in FSX and IL2, etc. along with new Saitek combat rudder pedals. My question is since the rudder, throttle and joystick are all separate devices, does IL2 recognize them all and can they be used? I use Logitech G940 now and since this setup has the throttle and rudder pedals connected to the joystick, ILE sees them all and they are useable. Just wanted to verify whether X55 would work or not? Thanks for any response.

I just set up my new X-55 today . Setup was a breeze . It has no problem with il2 at all . Very smooth well controlled package . I also just moved up from the G940 .

Thanks for the response. What rudder pedals do you use?

I'm just waiting for my Saitek Combat rudder pedals to arrive . At the moment I'm still using the Logitech set . I really haven't thought about what I want to do with the G940 setup Malone .

Okay follow up. I purchased the TM Warthog HOTAS and the Saitek Pro Combat Rudder pedals from Amazon for 400 USD. Big sell and I couldn't pass it by especially since I had been looking to replace the G940. Currently learning the TARGET software and making a profile for DBW.

Okay, got a Warthog throttle issue, maybe someone can help me with. I put together a profile for DBW and played several hours with the new rig. Everything worked great. Next I put a profile together for FSX and I had an issue. The warthog throttle would only register the upper 10 - 15 % of its range. I couldn't get the throttle to reduce down to idle. I fiddled around with drivers and firmware updates etc. and even tried un-installing and re-installing the Target software and drivers. It didn't work. I finally sidestepped Target and went into FSX and directly mapped the axes and buttons to the stick, throttle and pedals. That worked. I was able to fly in FSX then. However, I then went back into DBW to fly again and suddenly, I had the partial upper range on the throttle problem. Now I tired everything I could think of to correct it, get the throttle to show complete range and no joy. I haven't been able to correct the issue. I don't know how to fix it. I've emailed Thrust master support 4 days ago and they have yet to respond to me. Their support does not seem too good.

Anyone using Warthog HOTAS have any insight into this problem? I searched on-line and saw that some had the same issue but nobody really outlined how they were able to fix the issue. Any advise is appreciated since I can't fly in DBW until this gets resolved.
