Balaclava - at last! And Cape Khersones looks promising. Historical pre-1946 names is great feature.
Can't wait to see improved Crimea map. Great job, well done.
There should be not full history map with a small part of Crimea only, sorry..
Well, even small part is good - subject it's done with more attention to details than original map of Maddox team.

Inkerman, grapefields (recolored from Spains tga by Agracier, thanx to author):

Nice picture, but wrong location. There were no vineyards in Inkerman in 1930s-1940s. They existed in ancient times and until XVII century and were introduced again in early 1960s.

By the way, old Soviet (USSR Ministry of Defence) nautical charts used to include a lot of land topography in good details. Until 1980s at least, they were simplified later. But those maps are probably hard to find today, especially scale of 5:000-25:000. Some of them were printed in small numbers and restricted in distribution.

No way, mapbuilder will not allow to build the railway in Odessa-port as at historic photo you presented. Therefore, to find a compromise.
P.S.: don't forget, am not an artist, absolutely.

Not hard, but its not support for 1941-1944 maps building, too many changes after 1950 at South Ukraine & Crimea.

Well, I mean those related to the period of interest, of course.
Later charts are less helpful in toponymics, buildings and infrastucture, of course. However most of terrain remained the same, with exceptions as major landwork, quarries, etc. or coastal changes (not so much in that area).
