IL-2 Doesn't Recognize Laptop Touchpad Middle Mouse Click
« on: January 01, 2015, 10:14:54 PM »

Another day, another travesty.
I am not able to convince IL-2 to recognize the middle mouse "click" from my touchpad. This is a problem because that is how one resets the view with Benitomuso's (wonderful) 6DOF mod.

But, I am allowed to use a "3-finger tap" in windows explorer or internet browsers, that does the same thing as a middle mouse click. So there is something going on with IL-2 that it doesn't notice me desperately stabbing the touchpad for the middle mouse click.

And xpadder won't help either, mapping a middle mouse button to a controller button doesn't do the trick.

Please give me a push in the right direction!

Eh, after a day or two I figured that almost any USB mouse has the drivers to make it work. So the best fix is to find an old wireless mouse that is gathering dust, take the USB receiver and put the mouse back. If you're lucky you'll have a surplus of USB ports on your laptop, plug in the receiver et voila. IL-2 will know what the middle mouse button is for.
A better solution would be to spoof the USB mouse so that the computer only thinks it's there, but I don't care to get that involved. I hope this helps for somebody.
