F-8 Crusader - Upgrade mod 28.03.2015
« on: February 13, 2015, 04:53:11 AM »

New plane upgrade with ultimate lagrange interpolation Java code that i build with the decisive help of SAS_Storebror

with this code finally i fixed a bad issue that afflicts all supersonic you can find in IL2

adjusting the parameters contained in the code I've done that now the planes are no longer able to pull an unrealistic amount of G once exceeded the speed of sound

now you can no longer pull 10G at Mach 1.2 , but not more than 5 / 5.5 with fighters of years 60/70

with this code the plane will not shake at all once max supersonic G is reach, that issue is fixed

in subsonic you can pull more G than that the plane is able to support, in the case of the F-8s I recommend you do not cross 7G with 100% fuel, 7.5/7.8 with 50%, so take care to the G indicator, this code also fix the max sustained turn rate you can reach

at the same time i created another code for afterburner, Always using lagrange interpolation code

Max Ceiling: +/- 16000m

Top speed >mach 1.75 at 11500m (F-8E), >mach 1.5 (F-8A)

Better turn speed: mach 0.6

AS REQUESTED, ADDED NEW LOADOUTS WITH AIM-9C RADAR GUIDED MISSILES!!!

this upgrade have, as the previous, F-8E AN/APQ-94 radar mod too

this mod has autopilot too: now you can manage autopilot for elevators and heading as in Real life - Keys are Misc_1 & Misc_2

Add to Plane_ru

F-8A             F-8A  Crusader, 1957
F-8E             F-8E  Crusader, 1962
RF-8A            RF-8A  Crusader, 1958

installation:

Working on my 4.12+Modact 5.3 with SAS Engine Mod 2.7

It's been a while since I flew the F-8, so I kind of lost the feeling of the plane, but I think the plane seems much more manoeuvreble than before.
I did a dogfight, 2 F-8 VS 2 Mig-19's, It turned out very well, I used to suck when dogfighting with the F-8.

I also tried F-8 carrier landings, this part is just hopeless :(
I'm pretty good at carrier landings usually, but with this plane, I never ever succeeded. Before and after this mod.
The plane usually tips over, and brakes it's wings, or blows up
Usually toutching deck at 270km/h, if the speed is lower I loose too much altitude and splash into the water, or above 300km/h the gear brakes.

But I'm very very happy about the dogfighting :)

Keep it up!

this is the first step of a long series of upgrades for all IL2 Jets
...

Thanks Sir! :)
Cheerio

Comments strictly first impression and not meant disrespectful.

I cannot code but I can very well research the net and in that respect provide info, also from an engineer who qualified in aerodynamics fluid dynamics.

Take it or leave it. ;) :D

i have a lot of sources like these......

F-4: Better in supersonic compared to F-8

Mig-21 compared to F-4

F-4 maybe is the better vintage jet in supersonic

F8 during landing at flaps fully extended, amolotem swings from side to side, you can land at the airport, on the carrier can only smash.  :-X

this is like first

what is your speed when approach carrier?
