Hello,
I work with CUP.
I just experienced the F4F-4 Wildcat exploding on carrier deck. I changed F4F4 into F4F3 no more explosion. With airstart the F4F4 does no more explode.
The solution explained in an previous thread seems not valid for CUP.
Any help available?

tartenmuche, the fix that was posted many moons ago works still!
I just tested it in my CUP module and there was no problem with 5 F4Fs side by side during initial carrier take off;
you need to manually insert a 3do folder for the F4F though (I suggest you take the one from Jero´s cowling mod) and delete the files with names starting with "Wing", a total of 8 files that should be...
the fix works for the F4F-4s, but not for the British Martlet IIs unfortunately....

Does anyone know why the USS Princeton CVL23 is not available in CUP?  I found the files in WAW39.SFS which was included in the WAW Part 03 module and then I looked in "Ships.ini" and it's listed there.  I then looked at "Chief.ini" and it's listed but the lines are commented out.  I removed the comment marks (//) but it doesn't show up in the Ships list in FMB.

Anyone?

I believe this issue was fixed with WAW Part 11. I haven't experienced this issue since then. See this link.

the trouble appears in a campaign named "The eagle and the sun:" clash of carriers" by Ponyboy.
To my confusion I see now that it has been written for 4.13. That should be the reason of the explosion of the aircraft.

as posted it has nothing to do with 4.13! ehm you have posted the solution already as well and if you read what I have posted, you should be able to get the -4s running! put you will need to copy in the said folder into CUP first, then delete the files! the game needs to read from this folder in the #WAW or wherever mods folder...

wich mission? I just tested the first two missions,
no problem in CUP WAW here.

Ok, I have found the solution to the missing USS Princeton CVL23.
To get the USS Princeton back in CUP, make the following changes to the two files listed below...

Files location:   Your CUP folder/#WAW/STD/com/maddox/il2/objects/


1)  chief.ini:

Add the following line:
USSPrincetonCVL23   ships.ShipPack$USSPrincetonCVL23          1 icons/shipDestroyer.mat

directly above this line in the list:
USSBelleauWoodCVL24   ships.ShipPack$USSBelleauWoodCVL24          1 icons/shipDestroyer.mat


2)  chief.ini:

Remove the "//" comment marks from the beginning of these two lines:

[Ships.USSPrincetonCVL23]
 com.maddox.il2.objects.ships.ShipPack$USSPrincetonCVL23


3)  stationary.ini:

To add a stationary USS Princeton, add the following line:
USSPrincetonCVL23   ships.ShipPack$USSPrincetonCVL23          1

directly above this line in the list:
USSBelleauWoodCVL24   ships.ShipPack$USSBelleauWoodCVL24          1

That's it!,
