a word of caution for people who have installed unofficial addons to WAW like the adders from tooslow or moe;
simply deactivating them, adding the new content from pack #8 and then reapplying the adders might crash your install;
the reason is simple - the adders might not contain all the planes that Simon has added in pack #8 and if their air.ini entries are missing after reapplying the adders, then you will surely end up with a 60% crash at startup;
so be careful - the most secure way is to compare the air.ini, weapons.ru, plane.ru and stationary.ini files from pack #7 and #8 using winmerge, copy out the differences, compare them to your current same files (including all the stuff you have added so far) and apply the lines that are necessary;
takes about 10 to 15 minutes, but that way, you will surely get a working installation with all the bells and whistles as intended...

Good Morning, I'm still overwhelmed by this Giga-mod project, what a beauty!! After installing #WAW 08 - although I'm not completely sure that this is the case, as this is such a large thing and I didn't checked all planes before this updat -  I've found some errors in my install:
Seafury Mk X is the older Flakkitten mod, not the 110tfs update. Hellcat has lost its beautiful Hueyman-Ton414 Prop, or was this not fitted yet?
More seriously: no plane appears in the QMB for the I-15bis (both versions), I-16 Type 5 and Type 6 (all versions), G.55 Serie I (both versions), Re 2000, 1940, SM-79, 1936, Avia B-534-IV, Cw-21B, All Fokker D.XXI versions and the S-328-II.
Only unoffical additions I have: B-25D and B-25J Series_412, Spitfire VIII fb, Fr 14, Pr XIX and Ju-88G-6 for 409.

Hello Henky!

just checked your reports, all of the planes that you posted not showing up in your QMB are showing up just fine on mine... you might have a corrupted download/install here....

Hello henkypenky!

well, you would have to check filesizes of your downloads against the ones posted;
alternatively, and this has helped me to trace an oddity yesterday, select one of the planes that do not show up in QMB and generate a mission with them;
in all probability you will get that weird sky/tree screenie and now aircraft loaded; that way, you should get a logfile at least...try to trace what is missing there...
if you are not overly familiar with log files, just post the lower third of the log file here, so we can have a look at it...

The release posts are for official CUP updates. Putting every unofficial hotfix and tweak in there will make it a lot harder to read.

WAW Part 08 and SAS MME Part 10 are two new official updates to CUP.

To ensure a trouble-free upgrade, any unofficial updates/hotfixes should be rolled back and then re-applied after the official updates have been applied if they are still needed. It's what JSGME was built to handle.


I understand this, but I have a question as above - since the "MEM" parts were installed first, before "WAW" parts, do we just install first the MEM update and then the WAW update to what we have now, working as intended?  Or is there more to it? Thank you.

Do this:
Back out any #WAW JGSME mods you are using
De-Activate JSGME - '#CUP_TB SKIES'
Load the SASMME Update
Load the WAW 08 Update
Activate JSGME - '#CUP_TB SKIES
Re-activate the WAW JGSME mods that came w/ CUP
...and you should be good to go.

So far all has been added and it still works  OK ...
My Error log,  if I run it,  is now only 381kb which is a huge improvement on the 4 MB which brought my system to its knees.
I no longer run with the Log enabled when flying -  only enable it if I need to capture errors if strange things happen.
So far working like a champ   :)
Really do appreciate the work that you guys put into this excellent mod.

I just noticed as I was making the changes to the stationary.ini file , I found the line:

SmallWreck              ships.ShipPack$SmallWreck           2                   2

Is that second "2" on the line correct?  I don't think I added it by mistake.

Hi dpeters95,

That extra 2 has been in there since WAW pt 04 and doesn't seem to cause a problem, and can probably be safely removed.

Oh and just so there's no confusion, I'm not a member of the CUP team, just a community member.
