I will keep playing with TARGET.

It is annoying to lose the button allocation for the existing set up when more than 4 devices are connected via Target as well. I need to see if there is some way to re-arrange the order the controllers are selected as well... as I think that is why the limit on buttons is being reached before the Warthog Throttle is being accressed.

I don't have the warthog but with the mix of the Logitech G940 (3 devices) and the 2 Saitek throttle units I can use easily 5 devices with yadeli and joytokey. Sometimes I also ad my old Saitek X52 so there are 7 devices at all. No problem with the 2 programs I described before 👍
Here a shot (but with BOS running):

This is huge - I use a HOTAS Warthog stick and throttle, CH Pro rudder pedals, Saitek Yoke, 3x Saitek 3-axis throttle quads, 1x 6-axis CH throttle quad, 2x Saitek trim wheels plus the Saitek switch, autopilot and radio panels.  (And TrackIR)!  I want to have controller configurations like I've had in CFS2, FSX, and PREPAR3D for single engine props, twin props, 4-engine props, single jets, and twin jets.  My problem has always been getting the controllers I needed for '46 to show up in the "top 4" in windows so I could use them. . With YaDeLi, and I already have joytokey, looks like I could finally be in the IL-2 1946 business!  Thanks so much!

FYI it's possible to combine multiple joystick devices into a virtual one.
You cannot have more than 8 axes, one hat switch, and 128 buttons per virtual device, but you can have multiple ones.

E.g. I'm using an MSFFB2 (4 axes, 1 hat switch, 8 buttons), a DIY pedal (1 axis), and the hotas part of a Thrustmaster T Flight Hotas X (2 axes, 8 buttons) packed into one virtual device with 7 axes, 1 hat switch, and 16 buttons (which can be multiplied this way by using shifted buttons via Joy2Key).

1. Download vJoy and create a virtual device. I had no luck with the latest version, but e.g. vJoy v2.1.6 works fine for me in Win10 64 bit.

2. Download UJR v6.10 (https://github.com/evilC/AHK-Universal-Joystick-Remapper). This is the tool which enables you to bind physical joystick axes and buttons to the empty 'slots' of your virtual device.

3. Make sure that Windows enumerates your virtual device among the first 4. A have no experience with this (I did not need this part), but it's surely possible after some fiddling with the device manager.

4. Once your virtual device is recognized as any of #0 to #3, you're ready to use it in Il-2. Important! UJR must be running when you run Il-2 (or CLoD, or BoX).

I don't say it'll be a milk run, I just say it's possible.

Okay, reporting back, finally - I have got everything working as I always wanted it to, and am loving IL-2 1946!  In a nutshell, my soon to be batch file will include the following:

TrackIR 5:
SPAD: (Saitek Panels Advanced Drivers) this enables:
ProUSBpanels: with an IL-2 specific profile to use the Saitek Multi panel, and the Switch panel to send key commands to IL-2.
YADELI: for axis binding of all of the requisite controllers.
JoytoKey: to send keyboard commands from joysticks.

YADELI and JoytoKey each have profiles for "Singles", "Twins", and "Heavies", using either joystick or yoke, and appropriate throttle, prop, and mixture controls based on the aircraft I'm flying. The Saitek panels use the same  IL-2 1946 profile for all aircraft.

It is critical to run all of these programs as "Administrator".  Otherwise, if you're running IL-2 as admin, and not the others, their inputs will be ignored.

I've got perfect landscape, and all other graphics options maxed out, and running at 4K x 2160 resolution, and everything is as smooth as silk!  I'm in IL-2 heaven. Now to add lots of skins and campaigns to fly! I am nothing short of in awe at what you guys have done with IL-2 over the years. I have owned the sim since the first version came out, but it never "grabbed" me the way CFS2 did. Now the tables have turned completely.  Time to learn the "guts" of a new sim!  Thank you all so very much - GR

It's to old, but you can use ingame setup. Just plug in your pedals 1st or 2nd, so 46 will recognise them.
Or just try to write the author of yadeli a mail and ask kindly for this ;-) I did it so with Joytokey...
