Working on this mission as we speak. Thanks for the heads-up regarding the FPS.  :)

Now my old D.520 campaign has been updated to modded 4.12 standards. (As I only use HSFX at the moment - sorry! - I don't know if it works in CUP, but I really hope so!)

So now you get to fly F_Red's amazing Dewoitine D.520 in the Battle for France! This campaign is essentially a remake of my "Battle for France" (4.12) campaign for the MB.152, but with a number of additions and adjustments. E.g. there are fewer escort missions (the MB.152 was in contrast with the D.520 primarily used as an escort), the opposition is a bit tougher and there are more missions with random elements.

You can download it here: http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads3&file=details&id=1687

Thanks for looking!  :)

Hi poltava

The text on mission4today is a little confusing because it says it is for HSFX 7.0.3

Can we use it for both ?

As I wrote on M4T: "It might work in CUP as well. I hope so but don't know ATM."

This update is done after a request. And I did it on the 4.12 system I use currently, and as I don't use CUP (yet) I don't know if it works there. Just try it and see!  :)

Indeed, I have HSFX with all necessary install, so I will play it under HSFX

I have been flying the CUP version of Operation Taifun. Mission 1 was fine. Mission 2 gave me the old aircraft exploding on the runway problem. Missions 3, 4 and 5 all start fine again. I have tried everything I can think of ( load-out conflicts, plane type, wrong objects etc. ) to get 2 to work but no luck. There is an object in the mission that FMB tells me doesn't exist in CUP but if I remove it, it makes no difference.

Anyone had the same or similar problem? Any ideas for a solution?

Edit: solved my problem. But the mystery deepens! The Ju-88s had a load-out in the mission file that doesn't exist. The odd thing is I checked the load-out against the weapon.ru file and there was 6x250 bombs just as the mission file said. So I thought there was no problem there but when I check in the quick mission builder that load-out doesn't exist. When I changed 6 to 4 everything worked fine. But why does weapon.ru contain a load-out that doesn't exist?

I've had another confirmation that "Onwards to Stalingrad!" seems to work in CUP.

Really great, Poltava!! However, I don't see any mission briefings. Must have something to do with the properties.ru file?

Thanks for help!!

Yes indeed, that's a thing that differs between HSFX and CUP. For the file with the briefings HSFX uses the old mod suffix " ... ru.properties", while CUP for some reason uses the same suffix as the un-modded, stock game: "... .properties".

I will provide a CUP version eventually, but in the meanwhile use a program like "Bulk Rename Utility" to simply rename those files from "... ru.properties" to "... .properties". Or do it manually.  :)

Well, there has been some changes in CUP that can hurt backward compatability, but why only the creators of CUP can explain.

Good to hear that you found the culprit. Yes: the exploding aircraft on the runway-bug is almost always connected to a loud-out not supported by the game version used.

Dear Poltava,
I am experiencing a desperately low fps of 6 to 8 with your superb campaigns "Baby Blitz" and "1940 Potez 631" What should I do? I use CUP up to 20.
Best regards.

Tartenmuche,

I can't really say, as I don't have CUP. These campaigns run fine with high FPS in my rig, which is pretty old. They have been built with DBW 1.71. The problem can be that there are often many aircraft in the air at the same time, and also, in some of them, many AA guns.

I understand that having many aircraft in the air at the same time in CUP can be problematic. It could also be that you lack some crucial unit: for instance "Baby Blitz" and the Potez Campaign are Night fighting campaign (at least partially), that both uses a number of functions that can only be found in the C&C Mod. That could be the answer.

Notice that neither of these campaigns have been "CUP certified". They are, technically speaking, still DBW 1.71/4.10 campaigns. And there is a problem in CUP with the backward compatibility, so a lot of older campaign material will not work in CUP. At least if it hasn't gone through a deliberate CUP update.
